When Trump imposed tariffs it was as if the world was ending. It was a dishonest narrative and totally nonsensical. After the stock market kept hitting daily all time highs the tariff meltdown squad moved on to the latest manufactured outrage.

I wanted to convey a point in one of my posts: the left would have gone into an uproar if Trump had killed two US citizens with drones without due process, as Obama did. They seem to overlook executive overreach that of past administrations. This thread discusses "authoritarianism," but all they want to focus on is tariffs. If they really wanted to talk about roots of authoritarianism they would have talk about FDR. ie Exective order 9066 and executive Order 6102
