The Palestinians would be waiting by the pier to hijack all the delivery trucks on arrival .    There would be food shortages within  week on Ko Samui if Palestinians were there .    No need

I detest what the IDF is doing in Gaza and the West Bank and can understand the feelings of muslims over this. I'm not an anti Semite or anti muslim. But to discriminate like this against Israeli tourists is wrong unless they have openly shown hostility or in favour of the IDF war crimes.

I'm in dubio about this. As the Israeli supporters on here keep telling us, Gaza is hamas. On the same token, Israel is IDF. Maybe it's time to let the Israeli know, that they have become the pariahs of the world.

Lived and worked ( in hospitality) on samui for 23 years, Israelis are the worst customers going , normal 1 bottle of water and 5 straws, eat all the food ordered and start not paying for that,  why? , didn't like it ect ect, but you've eaten it all  . Rude ignorant,  vile people. Have never in all my time here meet a nice 1. Ban em from thailand

It is funny, I spoke to a Jamaican masseuse when I was in a 5 star resort in Grand Cayman getting a massage and asked her what her worst customers were. She also said American jews, apparently they were extremely unpelasant and demanding.

When Manchester United and Liverpool play against each other, I often wish there was a way both teams could lose. I feel much the same about Israel and Palestine.

Yeah. could do with a bit of instant sunshine on the horizon.

Then no one would be able to  live there.

Win, Win.

At least they didn't invade the establishment and kill 1200 people, raping, beheading and burning them, including babies. People seem to forget 7/10 and what started the current action and committed war crimes on that day. Soldiers dressed as civilians invading Israel and targeting civilians.

Remember the aim of the Palestinians is the total annihilation of Israel and its people.

And at least they did not kill all the children in that restaurant and destroy their housing and then starve them to death.

@Nick Carter icp In the way that some restauranteurs may choose to not welcome them. At least they could walk out and away safely without being shot and deemed as terrorists.

If we are going to generalize, I'd be more worried about sitting in a restaurant with a bunch of Palestinians wondering which one has the suicide vest on about to blow themselves up.

Industry observers note that actions like these could tarnish Thailand's image as a welcoming destination for all travelers.

Exactly as the Big Boys have planned.

What have I been saying people?

Our Rulers want our feet nailed to the floor, i.e. no more travel / reduced travel / travel bans / xenophobia.

We had a test run 2020-2023 ish if you recall.

#IsFlyingReallySafe?   #StaycationsRock!

The Zionists plan to take over the world.

Why do Thais involve themselves in things they do not understand? Out of 100 EDUCATED Thais, how many can find Israel let alone Gaza or the West Bank on a map? They couldn't find it if it was on the end of their nose,

Restaurant owners and staff are complete idiots. I mean real idiots! Accusing customers of being murderers of children and then playing the victim game by threatening to call the police for assault.  No understanding of Thai defamation laws, culture or immigration. These idiots do not understand they are guests of Thailand and can be deported on a whim by immigration.  Total childish idiot behaviour.

For those on here who criticise Israel, and who approve the action taken by the Samui restaurant against Israeli customers, I wonder how you would react if your country/people suffered a similar attack to that inflicted on Israeli civilians by Palestinians on the 7th of October 2023.

Better to not have those kinds of people in your establishment.

I doubt the event as described occurred. Were you present or is this something someone told you occurred?

The flag hanging in front of the restaurant explains a lot.

There are many flags hanging in this restaurant. The large Turkish flag may indicate that the owners are Turks or specialize in Turkish guests. So what? The flag doesn't explain anything!

Americans are not much better.

The restaurant is named in the Thai language comment and appears to be a Turkish restaurant, Turkey unsympathetic to the Israeli cause.

Strange that the customers are being identified as soldiers, and this being a bad thing. Not so many years ago the Thai tourist industry was founded by catering for soldiers on R and R from the Vietnam war, seems a bit ungrateful. I am sure Israeli and other customers will rethink their choice of dining establishments.

So many are consumed by their hatred for Israel that they ignore  critical facts;

1. The restaurant is NOT Thai, and is a foreign operation.

2. Allah Ahkbar was shouted multiple times. The same chant the 9-11 hijackers and the  July 7, 2005, suicide bombers aboard three London Underground trains used when they undertook their  murderous attacks.

3. The people who initiated the  event are not Thai and would be the first to complain if arabs, turks and bengalis were thrown out of a restaurant on the basis of their national origin.

The doubles standard and hypocrisy on display for some speaks to their visceral hatred. The political position on Israel is  only an excuse for them to  express their hate. The war in Gaza provides cover for their hateful sentiments.

American operated  restaurants in Thailand have not thrown any arabs or turks out of their establishments have they? Why then are Americans no better when they have not engaged in similar hateful  and prejudiced activity in Thailand?

In Turkey, US nationals are often targeted by supporters of the Erdogan aligned Islamic factions and the muslim Brotherhood. It is not just US nationals who are targeted.

So your comment is totally irrelevant.

Not better means: Americans also don't have much knowledge of where other states can be found on the map. Incidentally; also POTUS Orange T. a few years ago, considered the city of Brussels to be a state.

Ok, but those Americans you ridicule are not humiliating tourists or throwing people out of restaurants because of their national origin.

Just before the tsunami, my wife and I were somewhat taken aback when, on checking in to our hotel on Kho Phi Phi, we saw an A4 sheet taped to the reception desk. It said in English, as near as I can remember,

"If you are from Israel, go away. We do not accept people from Israel. They are nasty, rude, ignorant people."

So far as the current conflict, its origins and its outcome are concerned, my view has always been and remains ,"a plague on both your houses!" The world would be a better place if both ceased to exist.

This was not my comment, not my intention.

My comment was the answer to: "Why do Thais involve themselves in things they do not understand? Out of 100 EDUCATED Thais, how many can find Israel let alone Gaza or the West Bank on a map? They couldn't find it if it was on the end of their nose,"

And, in the US, Americans kick people out of the country who don't please the MAGA prince.

Or brutally rape, mutilate children, then hide in tunnels and civilian buildings while thinking about all those virgins should things go pear shaped. Ooops they did, and now the Donald has snookered the remaining mongrels and will liberate Gaza.

I reckon if I had observed that behaviour by the restaurant owner I would have walked out. If he want to create political debates in his restaurant let him warn customers beforehand so they can hog elsewhere for a peaceful lunch

I always thought it was restaurant staff that should clear up after customers.

I certainly don't.

so you don't see the signs "put rubbish here"  and "put tray here", you think that's for the staff?

hopefully, you had parents who taught you to clean up after yourself.  even in a full-service restaurant, you should do your best to keep things cleanish and tidy out of respect for others...

I'm not taking sides here, but the reality is that many Israelis have not been well behaved in Thailand, and they are fairly universally disliked here. The reality is that a restaurant should maintain the right to refuse service to patrons, they're not a public institution after all.

And the vast majority of the world's population rejects Israeli government policies and the genocide that's been going on in Gaza, so that's obviously a contributing factor too.

Turkey and Iz were best budds till that maniac Erdogan grabbed the wheel.

Well Turkey still got the best breakfasts  💯

I see them, and I ignore them.

If I wanted to clear up after myself, I'd eat at home.
