A Thai man is accused of attacking his mother in their rural home while under the influence of cannabis, leaving her with severe injuries. The incident occurred in a village in Thailand following an argument between the mother and her biological son. The suspect has turned himself into the police and is under investigation for the attack.

The mother was found by emergency responders with significant bruising and signs of internal bleeding. After being rushed to the hospital, medical staff identified severe swelling and blunt force trauma to her head. She remains in the hospital in critical condition, monitored by medical professionals.

Upon questioning, the suspect appeared unapologetic, smiling while denying hitting his mother. Video footage captured him making defensive statements such as, “I didn’t hit her,” though he eventually admitted to losing his temper. The suspect described his mother as incessantly talking, which he claimed drove him to the violent act.

Despite the visible injuries, the suspect attributed his actions to cannabis use, stating, “It was just weed.” He explained that a minor incident over food led to his outburst, admitting his anger got the better of him. He maintains that the attack was not premeditated and attempted to minimize his culpability.

Police continue to investigate, with forensic teams gathering evidence from the location. They are also awaiting further reports from the hospital concerning the victim’s condition. The situation has raised concerns about drug use and its potential impact on behavior.

Key Takeaways

  • A Thai man's cannabis use is linked to his alleged attack on his mother.
  • The victim remains in critical condition due to severe injuries.
  • Authorities continue to investigate as they gather evidence and medical updates.

How many times do we need to go over this?

Cannabis alone does not cause behavior like this. This is mere anti-cannabis rhetoric.

"Linked" is very broad. You could also say "A Thai man's wearing of clothes is linked...". His outburst is due to him being an <deleted> lacking self-control. Did ge smoke weed? Yes. Did weed make him more angry? No

Here is just ONE MORE CASE of Cannabis Psychosis.

When will society finally learn?

Also, this nut-job did not turn himself in.

They came for him, and cuffed him.

The MAIN lesson here is:  Think twice before engaging in any behavior which might result in conception.

Do not do it, women!!!!

The risk of having a son, a Son of Sam, is not worth the imagined pleasure of it.

No way would I beget a child, during this day and age.

Not all the cannabis available in the hopelessly unregulated wild west of "legal" weed in Thailand is the same.

The cannabis available now has a very high THC content so has a stronger psychological effect. Not like back in the day when I used to smoke the very mild stuff. Even then, I had friends who were very heavy users and were prone to violent outbursts although not as serious as this.

You could compare it to the difference between someone who drinks a few pints of lager at the weekend and an alcoholic that continuosly drinks strong spirits.

I have seen the effects first hand with my stepson over the last 2 years. He has been displaying ever increasing psychotic / sociopathic behaviour.

Last week, he committed ABH / GBH against me, supposedly because of a silly (verbal) argument I had with his mother 2 days earlier. He was present at the time but did not react so it is no justification.

Does anyone have the link to the original article in Thai so I can show his mother?

How do you account for hash back in the day then ? Which has a higher thc content than any flower available today.

And let's not even get into how terpenes effect the buzz either. Which were far more potent back in the day before all the bastardization and cross breeding in today's world to produce high thc.

Its not just about the high thc content.

Most people have no idea the relationship terpenes have on this subject.

So what do you mean ?

Since the 1970s, when most cannabis was naturally grown, THC content has increased from a few percent to some tens of percent with modern, intensely farmed strains.

I would post a link but the whole internet agrees with me. 🤔

Umm as I previously stated the hash back then had higher thc levels then even the best flower of today.

So there's that.

Weed is not a harmless drug but I doubt very much this case of violence was 100% weed induced.

More likely yabba mixed with moonshine and cigarettes.

Again, no mention of a father, so guessing this spineless coward was never taught respect for women, which begins at home with a dad, by his father. Weed , many varieties, has been around in strong THC content, and isn't what's caused this behavior. Yaba can, as can cocaine or any other speed, along with underlying anger.

According to research studies, marijuana use causes aggressive behavior, causes or exacerbates psychosis, and produces paranoia. These effects have been illustrated through case studies of highly publicized incidents and heightened political profiles.

Import to these assertions, is that the current marijuana is far more potent in THC concentrations, the psychoactive component. Accordingly, and demonstrated in direct studies, more potent marijuana results in a greater risk for paranoid thinking and psychosis. In turn, paranoid behavior increases the risk for paranoid behaviors and is predictably associated with aggressive and violent behaviors.

I strongly suspect he blamed cannabis use because it is not illegal while he was most likely on a narcotic, probably crystal meth. The  use of crystal meth (yaa ba) encourages aggression, while cannabis use induces thoughtfulness and calm.

probably means the whimpy dude was so stoned on weed that his paranoia was over the top.  so he denied and would not cop to the ketamine or yaba high
