Four Israeli soldiers have been arrested after a drug party was busted at a villa on Koh Pha Ngan, Surat Thani. The arrest followed a complaint by a French tourist about loud music and disturbances at the villa. Police discovered drugs, leading to charges of possession for personal use.

The incident occurred in the early hours of October 14, when Koh Pha Ngan Tourist Police received a call on the 1155 hotline. The French national reported that a neighboring villa was holding a disruptive party. Despite initial warnings, the noise persisted, prompting police intervention.

Upon arrival, police found four Israeli nationals aged 26 to 27, identified only as Daniel, David, Kefia, and Guy. The group had legal entry documents but were warned to cease disturbances. However, a search revealed 0.59 grams of cocaine and 1.37 grams of ecstasy, leading to their arrest.

The suspects, on leave from the Israeli military, admitted ownership of the drugs, which they claimed were purchased from an unnamed Israeli friend. The party was intended to celebrate the end of a war. Although initially attended by 10 to 15 Israelis, only four remained during the police raid.

Drug tests showed Daniel and Kefia were positive for methamphetamine and cocaine; David and Guy tested positive for cocaine. They now face legal proceedings at Koh Pha Ngan Police Station on charges of possessing Category 1 and Category 2 drugs.

The license for partying in Thailand raises concerns, as evidenced by a similar incident in July at a Phuket condominium, where two Thai men and a Russian were arrested after a drug party. Despite the small quantities, they were classified as drug users, not dealers.

Looking forward, this incident emphasizes the need for vigilant monitoring of tourist activities in Thailand to maintain public order. The case continues to be investigated, with potential implications for international relations and local tourism policies.

Key Takeaways

  • Four Israeli soldiers arrested at Koh Pha Ngan party after drug discovery.
  • Drugs included 0.59 grams of cocaine and 1.37 grams of ecstasy.
  • Similar incidents raise concerns over tourist behavior in Thai locations.

Over 70,000 Palestinians dead since Oct 7th event, most of them unarmed civilians, around 70% of them women, children and babies.

Plus over 200 journalists, over 200 humanitarian aid workers, over 100 academics and nearly 2,000 Israelis killed in Gaza in the same period.

Doesn't seem like a reason to party.

You skipped over the possibility that they are hopeful they will not have to return and be ordered to further participate in the killing.  I would find that a reason to celebrate. :jap:

Nazi Germany gave its troops methamphetamine, most notably during World War II. They distributed millions of pills to increase alertness and endurance, and they also developed an experimental performance enhancer called D-IX which contained methamphetamine, cocaine, and oxycodone. Other countries also used amphetamines in their militaries during this period.

I'd bet they get off easy , not doing any time in jail.

No different to all the GI's who came to pattaya back in the day.   Only to be expected that serving soldiers on leave from active combat would let their hair down.

They are the last people who should be blamed  for this recent conflict, as serving soldiers they don't really have much say in the politics of the matter

No excuse for illegal drug use, up to 3 years in jail in Israel, even for small amounts of MDA or Cocaine for own use.

Why bother to research israeli drug  penalties   That's just plain weird    or are you planning a trip there to show your support

Their behavior though illegal sounds rather on the  normal range for young men. But obviously of more prurient interest to the peanut gallery under the no Jews, no news rule.

That's interesting.  My understanding is that weed is pervasive there though usually low potency weed. My source being The Salukie a very cool ex drug addict Israeli youtuber.

According to the OP, it was MDMA/Ecstasy plus Cocaine worth up to 5 years here, so better off being deported with a fine.

Why do the Thai authorities mention they are Israeli soldiers

Would have thought they  were  classed as Civilians on holiday

Unless they were in Uniform which I doubt 🫣

Nope. They didn't mention that. It was assumed by those who wrote the story, re-wrote the story and "improve" the story.

Have you completely lost your marbles? It is normal behaviour for young people to consume cocaine?

In Israel I take it?

I hope the authorities here show some sympathy to these guys, they have just spent 6 months in a war zone being shot at, Hamas trying to blow them up, IED's every where, a bit of Charlie will help with the PTSD, They must know who the french guys is, cant trust them anyway,

Not unusual. Not specific to Israel.

I said a range of normal for partying young people. Range being the key word.

The Thai justice system will do what they will do but they got caught only  as users not dealers.

Amphetamine and cocaine taking former IDF soldiers flooding into Thailand from Israel will continue to be a major problem as long as Chabad Houses continue to be set up in prime locations in Thailand, as Chabad promote their Chabad Houses as places to recuperate for IDF soldiers.

This is a real problem for Thai authorities now, but of course Anutin saying "no action required"..

How long before one of these drug addled former IDF child killers will kill a ladyboy or freelancer while high on drugs?

We don't want child killing IDF soldiers high on amphetamines or cocaine in Thailand.

Something needs to be done, but of course Anutin will just continue to say "no action required" and allow these vile criminals to continue flooding into Thailand.

You are completely wrong. It is highly unusual.

Stats show that a mere 2.6% of young people consumed cocaine, so it's in single digits and thus EXTREMELY unusual.

It is certainly NOT "normal" behaviour.

You're more likely to be born with HIV than being a cocaine user, statistically. Cocaine use is in the single digits.

@Drumbuie  Please keep posts on-topic.

It has nothing to do with Gaza or the IDF actions in Gaza. There are plenty of other threads discussing Gaza.

This topic is regarding Israelis nationals being arrested with drugs at a party in Thailand.

Yet at the time they have been shooting and killing unarmed civilians. Does that make their drug use OK? If they believed that the orders from their leaders to shoot unarmed civilians were illegal. they should and could have refused to obey those orders.

Or do you think that those orders were legal?

Especially as Netanyahu has claimed that the IDF is the most moral army in the world.

Straw man.

I didn't say it was normal.

Should they really be in jail for that? You would have to lock up half the rich of London or New York or any major capital city in the West. Yes its recreational and illegal but prison come on that should be for drug gangs, violence, robbery, attacks on ppl  etc
