Good tempura is the best. It's not unreasonable to get to the bottom of it and see whether he's a normal day to day husband and she is running around when he's  in hard times - or whether they are effectively separated for years. She might appreciate that you show some moral fiber

Her husband died 23 years ago. She's been single ever since. It was down to mismatched communication. The daughter is her best friend, and begged me to take her out alone. To give her a break.

 

High end tempura was not cheap, but very theatrical and we left stuffed after 12 perfect little bites. Her knowledge of Japanese-everything got us a free app of deep fried crab guts.

 

We'll go out again. Probably Monday. But not for sushi, which typically gets delivered on a Tuesday. She mostly eats Japanese food. 20% Thai food, 0% western food.

My luck has turned. Two old whities in two weeks. But I like her. Her restaurant is about 200 steps from condo.

There are 1,000s of available woman in Thailand I know from experience and I’m older than you so I suggest find a new place to eat and leave well alone her husband might be of very ill health but I’m sure he’s got many friends who keep a watchful eye out for him !

The idea that a dying guy has a army of mafia-like enforcers to beat me down amuses me.
