"Nobody Knows What Magnets Are": POTUS

IF he sends those cheques out, then we will have a financially damaged usa, which again, should result in him being impeached or otherwise "shown the door" or (God-willing) perhaps a jail cell!

Rather dramatic and harsh with the jail cell don't you think?

What degrees have you obtained in Economics that you determined that USA will be "financially damaged" with a 2000$ handout?

Has it ever occurred to you that most of that money will be pumped right back into the economy?

Another day, another rant, President Trump sure knows how to get in peoples head. But there is help available. Many psychologists are specializing in helping people cope with President Trumps MAGA movement.

trump person of the year.webp

The first photo was more appropriate in my view you know the one with the bald head and the neck vag with the meat flaps just a flapping in the breeze…….seems our Donald doesn’t like that one so it was (under threat) changed or if you will another example of extortion under color of authority to this one.anyway on topic trump was griping about the navy having trouble with the new catipult system for launching aircraft in his usual sad uninformed stupid way.

Another comment taken out of context. The magnets he was referring to are the industrial and military use type of magnets. And yes, he has a point, the critics on this thread do not understand what the magnets are. There are specialty type magnets made from the rare earths that China mines, refines, and processes.

Please tell me how many people  know what Samarium- Cobalt or Neodymium magnets are or what they are used for?

I certainly did not until I looked it up.   Trump is right, that much of the world's vehicles could not function without these magnets.  The Neodynium magnets are integral to

Electric motors and generators in aircraft, naval vessels, and vehicles

Actuators for control surfaces and other mechanical systems

Guidance systems for missiles and drones

Radar and sonar systems

Secure military communication systems

High performance aeronautic motors in aircrafts, satellites, and rockets could not function without the Samarium-cobalt magnets that can withstand wide temperature variations and extreme heat and cold.

The US population, like most of the world is not particularly technologically well educated. He has tailored his message and his communication to explain it to these people. I just don't get the continuous stream of turning things into something they are not.

You're sane washing the unwashable.

Trump didn't say all that.

You're attributing stuff to him that he did not communicate about at all.

If magnets are the best thing leftists loonies can come up with, He’s winning!

It’s comical how Trump’s non stop winning has them reaching into the pits to try and come up with whatever negative narrative they warrant necessary.

Magnets..you can’t make this shi- up!

Step back and listen to him, and consider the context. I am not defending the man. However, I understood what his point was. he was explaining to people who do not understand what magnets are. Look at some of the comments. One references ferrous materials. technically correct, but not the magnets that are involved. Were you aware of the rare earth role in magnets? I was not. To be blunt, other than a rudimentary knowledge, I never appreciated  the mechanical nature of all of the  technology until I read up on the subject.

The problem is that this man is becoming increasingly more senile, and his supporters tolerate it, but it's quite alarming to rational people around the world. His facilities are declining by the day, and he's a very old version of himself.

Some recent quotes, which are great examples of his disjointed mind.

"It must be because of M.I.T., my relationship with M.I.T., very smart. I say, 'What would happen if the boat sank from its weight and you're in the boat and you have this tremendously powerful battery, and the battery is now underwater, and there's a shark that's approximately 10 yards over there?" Trump said. "By the way, lot of shark attacks lately. Did you notice that?"

During a meeting with the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, abruptly switched from discussing immigration to saying this: “The other thing I say to Europe: we’ve – we will not allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They’re killing us. They’re killing the beauty of our scenery.”

Trump proceeded to speak, non-stop and unprompted, for two minutes about windmills, claiming without evidence that they drive whales “loco” and that wind energy “kills the birds” (the proportion of birds killed by turbines is tiny compared with the number killed by domestic cats and from flying into power lines).

The abrupt changes in conversation are an example of Trump “digressing without thinking – he’ll just switch topics without self-regulation, without having a coherent narrative”, said Harry Segal, a senior lecturer in the psychology department at Cornell University and in the psychiatry department at Weill Cornell Medicine. Segal said another characteristic of Trump’s questionable mental acuity is confabulation. “It’s where he takes an idea or something that’s happened and he adds to it things that have not happened.”

A high-profile example came in mid-July, when Trump claimed his uncle, the late professor John Trump, had taught Ted Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber, at MIT.

Trump recalled: “I said: ‘What kind of a student was he, Uncle John? Dr John Trump.’ I said: ‘What kind of a student?’ And then he said: ‘Seriously, good.’ He said: ‘He’d correct – he’d go around correcting everybody.’ But it didn’t work out too well for him.”

The problem is: that cannot possibly be true. First, Trump’s uncle died in 1985, and Kaczynski was only publicly identified as the Unabomber in 1996. Second, Kaczynski did not study at MIT.

“The story makes no sense whatsoever, but it’s told in a very warm, reflective way, as if he’s remembering it,” Segal said. “This level of thinking really has been deteriorating.”

I got rid of – just one I got rid of the other night, you buy a house, they have a faucet in the house, Joe, and the faucet the water doesn’t come out. They have a restrictor. You can’t – in areas where you have so much water they don’t know what to do with it. Uh, you have a shower head the shower doesn’t uh, the shower doesn’t, you think it’s not working. It is working. The water’s dripping out and that’s no good for me. I like this hair lace and [sic] – I like that hair nice and wet. Takes you – you have to stand in the shower for 20 minutes before you get the soap out of your hair. And I put a, a thing – and it sounds funny but it’s really not. It’s horrible. And uh, when you wash your hands, you turn on the faucet, no water comes out. You’re washing whole – water barely comes out it’s ridi – this was done by crazy people. And I wor – wrote it all off and got it approved in Congress so that they can’t just change it.”

“Any fair-minded mental-health expert would be very worried about Donald Trump’s performance,” Richard A Friedman, a professor of clinical psychiatry and the director of the psychopharmacology clinic at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Take off the MAGA filter THEN step back and REALLY listen. You will hear a blithering idiot spitting stupid word salads.

AI quickie Gemini on the context:

In October 2025, during a speech aboard the USS George Washington aircraft carrier off the coast of Japan, President Donald Trump discussed the use of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) on new Navy carriers, which he has criticized in the past in favor of traditional steam catapults and hydraulic systems.

During the speech, Trump repeated his long-held, inaccurate claim that water can disable magnets, stating: "All I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that's the end of the magnets". He advocated for a return to "steam for the catapults and it's hydraulic for the elevators" and vowed to sign an executive order to that effect if he were president.

Let's try this again....

A satirical website called The Dunning-Kruger Times (first hint), a site which states clearly it is satirical and made-up (second hint), posted an article claiming President Obama received royalties every year from the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, but that Musk and DOGE put a stop to it.

Trump was fooled and posted a comment on social media, raging against the royalties paid to Obama.

The guy who refers to himself as a stable genius was fooled by a website calling itself The Dunning-Kruger Times. Even the Onion couldn't make up a funnier story.

Haven't followed the details, but 2000$ tariff checks are being discussed.

As well, the idea of 50 year mortgages being considered.

Being discussed and considered, gives you nothing now.

So the POTUS (yes, the US president, pinch yourself if necessary) sits in the space formerly known as the Oval Office, and with a straight face declare repeatedly that nobody knows what magnets are.

Nobody knows what magnets are. This is the moron with the nuclear codes, and due to the amount of lies, untruths and BS flooding out of his pie hole the world has gotten numb.

Had Biden said anything like this the whole MAGA world would have exploded. Trump wasn't, isn't and never will be fit to lead anything at all. If you started from scratch and your aim was to build the worst president possible, the result would be something closely resembling him.

25, now.

Man, just be quiet. This President is a genius! Einstein... Zweistein! After ending countless wars on this Planet and throughout the entire Universe, he has also invented magnets! Can you imagine how useful these will be! One day they'll allow you to stick 2 pieces of metal together without a glue! And even be able to show you where the North of the planet is. Amazing discovery. He should be featured on the cover of National Geographic magazine and have a series made about him, narrated by Sir David Attenborough!

well, son the subject of nuclear codes, when I was in the Air Force and stationed at Vandenberg AFG back in the early 1980s,  I had to brief the SAC 1Strad commander on our F 15 Anti satellite missile system.  He had no idea what liquid helium was.  he thought it was fuel.  My point being this three star general was one of the guys that flew on the back up flying command post and could be launching ICBMs in some scenarios.

If you are happy with a promise from a cheat and liar, you are welcome to it.

Don't think it are facts.

Also words. According to him, he knows lots of words. "Nobody knows words like I do."

Apparently also insulted US veterans, including John McCain. Said he wasn't a war hero (he spent five years  as a POW), because he got caught.

Pretty sure Trump wouldn't have got caught if his "bone spurs" hadn't stopped him serving.

Utterly irrelevant and off topic, but apparently as the crew of one of the British warships fatally damaged and sinking during the Falklands war gathered at the back of the ship waiting to be taken off, this was the song they broke into...

He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W. look smart and articulate. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws - he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: 'My God… what… have… I… created?

Unappealing, unattractive, idiotic, incompetent, hateful, hurtful, abrasive, rude, blowhard, liar, cheater, thief, infantile, failure, loser, fraud, sexual abuser, incestuous, tax cheat, insurrectionist, un-American, dictator-loving dictator wannabe, out of control, sociopathic, convicted felon, toxic narcissist & brutish A-hole.

Everything about the con-man referred to as Trump is unlikeable. He's everything wrong with the human animal, all stuffed into one specimen.
