Step back and listen to him, and consider the context. I am not defending the man. However, I understood what his point was. he was explaining to people who do not understand what magnets are. well, son the subject of nuclear codes, when I was in the Air Force and stationed at Vandenberg AFG back in the early 1980s,  I had to brief the SAC 1Strad commander on our F 15 Anti satellite missile system.  He had no idea what liquid helium was.  he thought it was fuel.  My point being this three star general was one of the guys that flew on the back up flying command post and could be launching ICBMs in some scenarios.
