Police on Phi Phi Island intervened on 20 November 2025 after a female Mexican tourist became heavily intoxicated and caused a disturbance inside a local shop. The immediate response involved officers escorting her from the premises after shop operators requested assistance due to her loud and erratic actions. To ensure her safety, police used a luggage trolley borrowed from a nearby shop to transport her back to her accommodation, as the island’s narrow layout prevents the use of cars.

The incident unfolded when officers from Koh Phi Phi Police Station found the woman unable to walk steadily and continuously shouting. With no vehicles they sought help from local businesses to improvise safe transport. The trolley was used as a practical solution to move her through crowded pathways without causing further disruption.

During the process, the tourist continued to shout, prompting assistance from local women and other foreign visitors who helped stabilise her as officers escorted her. The group worked together to ensure she reached her room safely. Despite her behaviour, the operation concluded without injuries or additional disturbances.

Police Colonel Surasak Jaidee, Superintendent of Koh Phi Phi Police Station, later explained that the intervention formed part of the “You Drink I Drive” initiative launched by the station. The project aims to protect tourists who drink heavily and are unable to return safely to their accommodation. He emphasised that the approach prioritises safety through methods suited to the island’s car-free environment, including trolleys and walking escorts.

The incident highlights the wider challenges of managing tourism on densely populated, vehicle-restricted islands where emergency response must adapt to physical constraints. It also underscores the need for safety measures during peak tourist seasons, when alcohol-related incidents tend to rise. The police initiative may serve as a model for similar destinations facing comparable issues.

Amarin reported that authorities are expected to continue enforcing the programme throughout the high season, with further emphasis on preventing incidents and ensuring visitor safety. No charges or further action were reported in relation to the tourist involved. Police say they will monitor nightlife areas closely to prevent similar disturbances and maintain public order.

You can't make this up.

So she has some more pictures from her dream holiday to show to family and friends.

These "owl"? tattoos are so popular. Terrible.

The trolley must have been the military version to carry that load!

Looks like ink from the camo leggings has bled upwards onto her back.  For that "below", she sure is no ladyboy!

I guess at least 'Phi Phi' is the right place to be intoxicated ...

Later that day after seeing the photo, she asked "Does my bum look big in these pants "

Let's extend opening times for places selling alcohol, that'll end it....

Good work - no easy task navigating a narrow layout with a wide load.

Trolley was used because it looks like she was over 100kg, look at that fat arse.

It was reported recently a Russian guy, intoxicated, causing a disturbance at a local shop in Pattaya.

I don't remember the cops escorting him home safety

A trolley for a basket-case... seems appropriate
