Maybe you should try doing what I do, just keep scrolling.

I regularly reply to the article or OP, I rarely interact with other members, usually only if I'm attacked, if I receive a hostile comment.

You must understand everyone is different, we don't always see eye to eye, accept this and move on.

If I see a stupid comment or a comment I disagree with, I have a laugh and keep scrolling. I don't attack another person for having a different view.

Sadly, some here know how to trigger me, I retaliate with hostility, then I'm suspended. 😂

Your right about one thing, that's for sure.

Keep on scrolling mate. :giggle:

If they were pets, why were they left in the street? Why were they not in the owner's home?

  • Doesn't allow people to poison animals.Straydogs all over Thailand. When i lived in surin we had 7 dogs. Allways walking free in the village. At night time they protect our home from intruders.

  • Walking around shirtless:  guilty   No tattoos:  that exonerates him   Getting rid of vermin that barks all night long, carries rabies and threatens passers-by:  Give him a medal!

I was looking at a beautiful temple only to have these "bastard gang of dogs" confront me

I had to run into the temple

They had absolutely no sympathy for me ,growling ,barking

Strangely they didn't come into the temple

I'm going to be honest ..to this day , I want to GO BACK to this village in WAN NON and POISON those dogs !!!

Proper hero

a TRUE HERO!!! about time someone takes action. It's the only way that people will learn to be responsible for their "animals"

I have no sympathy for dogs which roam around the streets growling barking and nipping people on the ankles .

I had that happen in Pattaya whilst the Thai Chinese owner watched

Get your mutts away from me !!!!!!

Some people are not selfish, they have dogs to protect their property, they are responsible and keep their animals in their land, those animals will have no issues  and will not die by poison.

Then there are the selfish that dont care if their animals bother other people, I happily support a bullet in the head of these animals.

Worst part of visiting wife's family (we live FAR away from them) was the village dogs howling at all hours of the night and being unable to walk around as there are aggressive dogs that shoot into the street from several houses. Glad we stopped visiting and now invite them down once every year or two. I understand the frustration and could not live in such an environment.

Had a problem years ago with dog next door to our rented house - it barked all night.  This went on for months and despite the wife and the owner talking to the owner - single Thai bloke living by self. One night after several days of no sleep I got so angry I walked out at 3am and started hosing water at the dog - by the time I was finished it was cowering under the guys truck and soaked to the skin.  It did not bark again and I got to sleep. Next day owner calls and the bloke had a camera and saw I hosed the dog - she talked him out of filing a complaint with police. I almost exploded but bit my tongue and apologised and promised not to do it again - she calmed him down (she did not want the trouble of police).

The next night the dog was back at it again and I seriously thought of poisoning it - but because I had done what I did it was clear the police would come for me.  And then a few days later I noticed something - when we came home late one night - several cats - there were cats roaming the village at night. The wife asked the gated community head about it - no owners but apparently people fed them at night (despite not being allowed in the rules to do that).   I got a cat trap and in two weeks I had 'relocated' late at night three cats a long way away into the farmlands - just open the trap and they take off (easy peasy). After the 3rd one the dog stopped barking late at night - when it did bark it was early in the morning about 7am at people walking past.  As soon as lease was up we left. A potential tenant inspected the house (Expat) and I quietly told him (away from the Thais) about the dog and that there was no one living in the house on the other side of the dog's house for a reason, and that was why both houses were going to (again) be vacant and for rent.  Lesson learned - when several houses in a street in a gated community are vacant - dont rent or buy.

I stopped visiting with the wife a while back.  After her last visit to the family (she goes for a few days 1-2 times a year) my Thai wife complained to me about all the noise in the village and that she could hardly sleep.  All I could do was giggle and try not to laugh too much - she has finally started to become 'civilised'.

Any dogs running loose should be rounded up by Animal Control and put to sleep.  If you own a dog it's your responsibility to keep it secured on your property and on a leash when it is not on your property.

i would also be outraged if some immigrant ran around poisoning pets, and this one rings like a foreigner not understand the empathy thais have for these mingy dogs

I was in a park in Australia the other day sitting in the beautiful sun

Only to have a young girl looked like South American walking her small ( without leash ) dog Chihuahua run up to me as I was seated trying to get upon my lap

I immediately started patting it ,oh baby I said to it patting it ,hugging it

She immediately stepped in

"Please leave my dog alone " she said

I looked at her

Your dog ran to me now get your ugly mutt off me!!!!

Poisoning domestic animals is the depths of scumbaggery

So now you have evacuation of people due to war.

Those people are NOT allowed to bring their pets with them, they must leave them unattended !

Thai way.

Is that the two humans, or the many dogs around?

The underlying mental instability of some of the people commenting  is concerning.  We have gone from a madman who allegedly poisoned dogs to claims of savage  dog attacks and barking and imagined events. Some of these people are truly frightening because they are so unhinged and unstable.

I was almost in despair, but there are still reasonable people in this world.

A couple of weeks ago, near Rayong, a pack of stray dogs mauled a 2.8-year-old child. The body was found without ears. The cause of death was blood loss; the dog had severed an artery in his leg. Of course, the 21-year-old father was also to blame for leaving the child home alone. But if not for "the alcoholic Thai ex-relatives", things might not have ended so tragically.

The YouTube video about this incident has many Thai comments. They mostly say the father is suspicious. I think the young, lazy father just got away with it. For some reason, this never occurs to Thais. Sorry for the off-topic.

But it's useless to argue with dog advocates. Having fed them even once, they're firmly convinced of the dogs' loyalty. Plus, these cowards now have a protector animal. Which, of course, is "kind and doesn't bite people."

Thank  God left behind drugs that only kill dogs.
I think the guy in the news used something harsh – rat poison, which is why the innocent birds died.

The Rayong reference is irrelevant. It is not even an accurate story. You are taking the Rayong  event as an opportunity to push your own personal sentiments.  The autopsy was inaccurately reported. The child's body was found on the side of busy Highway 36. As per the CCTV recording, it is a surprise that the child did not wander into traffic.

The dog bites indicate scavenging not necessarily an attack. If there had been an attack, the report would have stated  that the flesh was ripped and torn. The bite wounds were consistent of gnawing and biting down on an object. Big difference.  A GP at a mediocre hospital without experience in comparative scavenging events will not write a report with the appropriate nuances. Conclusions were made that were not necessarily supported by the physical condition of the body. As a reminder, the body had been moved and washed and there was bruising on the body assumed to have been from the dog bites. The father was alleged to have a history of domestic abuse.  Note that there was no reference to a radiological exam. The exam is relatively expensive, but would have  picked up broken bones. Nor did the autopsy support a conclusion that the  deceased was attacked by dogs, Rather, it  supports that the deceased was scavenged and that the soft tissue  injuries reflected animal  gnawing consistent of those found on scavenged bodies. The deceased met a grim demise, but was most likely already injured.

Horrendous. When Thailand finally grows up and gets the dogs, and monkeys, off the streets, they ought to heavily penalise numpty owners that let their fogs roam freely. If you have a dog, keep it on your fkn property (NOT IN A CAGE), feed it and take the poor thing for a walk occasionally!

Asking people to take responsibility for their actions is contrary to the sentiment so  many farangs who claim that they love Thailand because they can do whatever they want without nanny state interference.

How about the irresponsible farangs? Can we do that to the  farangs on benefits who shuffle about in their cheap polyester ugly outfits from Lotus telling everyone what they should do?

When I stay in Isaan (Sakon Nakhon) with the GF, everyday I do my walking routine from her farm to the village. The distance is around 6 km in the country side. The walking is a constant confrontation with all kind of dogs, wild half wild or too old to move their bottom. I always take a bamboo stick with me and when the bad ones approach I simply smash the road surface in front of them and they quit. But all the trip is a costant barking experience when I walk past their house.

Any Tennis players probably know about the house by the Casa Tennis Court near Jomtien Night Market.  Lady has at least 10 or 15 dogs.  When she gets a delivery at the gate you would think WWIII started.  Hate to be her neighbors.

Thais! In general always upset about nothing that nothing is they themselves do nothing.

When  something like this happens someone Thai  goes off the reservation near silence if it is a foreigner outrage major headlines so call net citizens 🤣 goes off rightfully so but come on let not be two face about it.

On one hand government doing everything to bring in tourist on the other net citizens doing everything to shine a light on every mis- step is done.

You're in Thailand now, not the Lord's Cricket Ground. Dogs out here roam free and aren't tethered to a post or an owner. Adapt to your surroundings - or move on.

And some roll around in agony from being poisoned....there is the odd death of  a child or elderly person after being attacked by feral dogs too. Room for improvement?

Did you not read the story?

It was referring to a pet dog, not a stray.

Do pets not have an owner in your world, even though the story states owner?

So, the dog was named "King Kong" huh and the owner went out of their way to point out that it was well-behaved... I think a picture of "King Kong" would go a long way to settling this one.

I'm guessing it was something like this....

I hear aspirin works for both barkers and biters (rabies outbreak) and cats that p*ss & s*it in my yard. Train your animals to have some manners.
