Harsh Times. Christian Bale as quasi-Latino homeboy, veteran of first Iraq war is told he failed his psych eval when he applies for a job with LAPD and does not take it well. Much more topical than I expected.

Over to NYC: Righteous Kill. DeNiro and Pacino again, this time they are both cops. Carla Gugino has a body built for sin IMO.

Thief with James Caan. He's still playing Sonny Corleone. I suspect his talent is in his pants. Rififi it is not.

There is a story that Robert Duval, Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman shared an apartment in NYC before any of them made it in films. True or not, Duval was the first one to get to Hollywood.

I watched and enjoyed "Nonnas". Predicable and often lame, but a nice picture. I like Vince Vaughn, but I don't think the roll fit him.

I like romantic comedies, but this was a semi-romantic, not funny comedy. Kind of a shame, as I think it could have been great.

Thought I would have a look at a movie on iPlayer called, "Bones and All" because I knew absolutely nothing about it and it did star Mark Rylance and Timothee Chalamet, and Mark Rylance is a favourite actor of mine, but I wasn't prepared for what was to come soon after the start!

I watched it past the first gruesome scenes, then thought I would be better off spending my time on another movie, so off it went!

Certainly a very different movie in many respects and if you don't believe me, have a look at it yourself........

Yeah. I assumed it would be another typical US network disaster. The streaming services do it much better like in Agency.

This is getting excellent reviews.

Just finished all six seasons of The Sopranos after first seeing it 27 years ago, and it's still one of the best, if not the best, TV series ever made.

I've just finished season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer and enjoyed it. It was mentioned by @gargamon earlier in this topic. Even after 4 seasons, I still find it very entertaining. It's on 1337x and others.

The first day of gawd damn winter

I managed to download the movie "Shelter" and although it started very slowly, it did build up momentum until the final quarter in which Jason Statham became a one-man killing machine, which became quite preposterous, and even though it was just a movie I was tempted to turn it off, but I watched it through till the end and the best I could say was that it did have quite a bit of action in it, but some realism would have been nice!

If you are sick of 'effin' and jeffin' in every sentence of dialogue; if you are tired of raunchy sex scenes where the protagonists seek to devour each other, then 'Train Dreams' is for you, a gentle, beautifully crafted movie.

The girl was good in it, but the dragged out time filler shots too much too often, fast forwarded over a lot of it to get to the end so I could watch something else.
