Good move by Trump.

He's not messing around in his second term.

Strong leadership.

Getting rid of Maduro -- GOOD. The consequences of doing it the way Trump has -- VERY RISKY. The "wisdom" or lack thereof (bizarre to use the word wisdom relating to Trump) of his decision will not be

Indeed. Sleepy Don doesn't mess around.

Time for forty winks as they announce the kidnapping of Venezuela's president.

Panama is a small country with a long term US military President there. You think that removing Maduro and a few of his cronies is going to eliminate the narcotrafficantes? Who's going to do the changing? The military? The police? You think that Americans are going to support a long term commitment of US troops on the ground there?

You think Trump's statements about taking back stolen oil resources was received by Venezuelans with rapturous joy?

I think that the elimination of the narcotrafficantes has never been the primary (or even the secondary) goal of the Trump admin. I think most people are aware that the cartels will find alternative ways to take drugs to the US and Europe. They probably have, not only plan B, but also plan C,D .....

The primary aim has been nothing but to get as much money as possible from Venezuelan oil. With or without total regime-change. For now, the issue of regime change is hanging in the balance. I mean, either there will be a total regime change (ie. some right winger pro-American person will be put in charge) or the remnants of the Maduro regime will be allowed to reign, after giving serious financial (oil money) assurances to Trump.

Does anybody know what the plan is? Or even if there is a plan?

Marjorie is not impressed:

Marjorie Taylor Greene has issued a stark warning to Donald Trump following the military operation in Venezuela, telling him that such overseas interference was “what many in MAGA thought they voted to end.”

“Regime change, funding foreign wars, and American’s tax dollars being consistently funnelled to foreign causes, foreigners both home and abroad, and foreign governments while Americans are consistently facing increasing cost of living, housing, healthcare, and learn about scams and fraud of their tax dollars is what has most Americans enraged,” Greene wrote in a lengthy post on X Saturday.

In her post, Greene hit back at the president’s claims that the operations were intended purely to crack down on alleged narco-terrorism, pointing out that 70 percent of U.S. drug overdose deaths were due to fentanyl that entered the country via Mexico

The firebrand Georgia congresswoman also pointed to his pardoning of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was convicted of trafficking hundreds of tons of cocaine into America.

Bowen: Trump's action could set precedent for authoritarian powers across globe

6 hours ago -- With the seizure of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, Donald Trump has demonstrated more powerfully than ever his belief in the power of his will, backed by raw US military force. On his orders the US has Maduro behind bars and now will "run" Venezuela.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y45nyz124o

Will the Donroe Doctrine work?

While there must have been some kind of internal collusion that gave the US military the inside knowledge it needed to remove Maduro, the regime created by his predecessor, Hugo Chávez, appears to be intact.

It is unlikely that the Venezuelan armed forces, despite any humiliation its generals might feel about their inability to oppose the US attack, will acquiesce with US plans.

The military and the regime's civilian supporters have enriched themselves through networks of corruption that they will not want to lose.

Civilian militias have been armed by the regime, and Venezuela has other armed groups.

They include criminal networks, as well as Colombian guerrillas who backed the Maduro regime in return for sanctuary.

This is all about the oil, nothing else.

A totally illegal move that will leave America despised across the world.

Trump like to bully small nations. Why doesnt he capture the ayatollah in Iran or the dictator in Myanmar? Both have been accused of drug exports to the USA and both have oil reserves. Its coz they are protected from American imperialism and trump couldn't handle that.

It's quite strange really; Trump normally waits until January 6th to take over countries!

Yes but it was a Dutch company that developed the oil fields over there.

Royal Dutch Shell, Standard Oil & Gulf initially developed the oil fields legally as they were given concessions by the Venezuelan Government.

Well, spotted..........clap2

Still waiting for the Epstein videos to be released, but I think this action has driven it from the minds of many.

A food move, very well implemented. Just not sure what comes next.

.

I think it was no coincidence that a Chinese envoy was visiting Maduro the same day as the raid. Not sure if the US wants Venezuelan oil. But rather that they don't want it going to other dictatorships like China and Cuba.

And Netanyahu, who is doing a lot worse than Putin.

Bit of irony. Netanyahu with outstanding arrest warrant "harbored" during his visit to US by trump. Hondursa ex-President, tried, sentenced for drug trafficking , pardoned by trump.

Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, Venezuela. Which is the next nation to be invaded by the US? Bear in mind the US has not won a war of any consequence for 80 years.

You forgot Greenland and Canada. The Vatican might get into the firing line, as Leo says what is right to him.

Captures one drug lord, pardons another convicted drug lord. President is totally immoral and unhinged. He needs to be impeached.

Knowing the history of the US military over the last 80 years it's very likely that a war with Canada would last 10 years longer than the Afghan war did.

Also going to have to send troops to Canada,Greenland,Denmark,Venezuela. Hope they have plenty of soldiers. What a total moron the clown actually is.

His efforts to find ways to divert attention from away from the Epstein files are getting more extreme. Unfortunately he’s too phukin stupid to realise that ain’t gonna happen. It’s what the people want!

This - https://youtu.be/GiuetZ6vQwQ - is AI-generated, as freely admitted by the Channel. It therefore does not represent the actual utterances of Francis Fukuyama. However, the suggestion is not altogether implausible.

A similar possibility was mooted by Simplicius, a Russian source:

https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/trumps-golden-hour-historically-flawless

Essentially the question is this: Did the U.S., Russia, and China reach a secret, publicly-deniable agreement on spheres of influence concerning the Americas, Eastern Europe, and East Asia ?

Attention whore. Delusions of grandeur. End stage narcissism. Attitude toward right to control all of Western hemisphere is shockingly racist. Morally bankrupt, soulless administration. It was said of the Nazis: "They were criminals who became politicians, not politicians who became criminals." Equally applicable to Trump's administration.

Boycott America. Boycott American goods and services. Minimize taxes. Time to take to the streets.

A true junkyard dog. Absolutely the worst person America could have possibly picked for this job. Granted Harris was dreadful too, so Americans were faced with two horrific choices. But at least she was unlikely to aspire to be a colonial power.
