Krungsri Bank Daily Limit Transaction Change By Them

My Kasikorn account cash daily withdrawl amount was lowered from 30k to 20k without import from me. This also applies to "Scan Pay", however transfers of higher amounts work.

I enquired at my Bank and was informed 'Thai government decision'.

Imagine if (when) there's no option to keep cash handy available.

I have had the same.

I have been into branch and have spoken on phone to HQ. I was initially told my ATM limit had been increased to 50,000 per day. Bank then phoned me to say the increase was only temporary and would revert to 20,000 in 28 days and that I would have to phone every 28 days for an increase that would then take up to three days to implement.

Ironically the screen on the ATM still states the machine can pay out up to 30,000 per transaction.

You've missed the news about scammers and mule accounts the last few months and changes to limits? My limit was also changed last night, you might find if you have other banks they'd changed already

Did you ever go in to the bank and have the facial recognition scan set up? You need that for transfers over 50K.

Thais older than 60, minors and all foreigners have their limits capped at 50,000. It's been advertised for months

Already mentioned upthread regarding children and the elderly but no indication the OP falls into these categories, and spending patterns is another guide to limit adjustments. As regards foreigners, a quick look at my banking limits indicate it's not true.

My Krungsri account has required facial recognition for transfers greater than 50,000 for over a year now. As others have said - it is a PITA. I hate looking (more) like a fool nodding and blinking at my phone - so multiple under 50k transfers is my preferred option. They have not changed my daily limits.

Kasikorn - OMG! - I opened an account with them at the time that Wise transfers could only be 50K to Krungsri (now it is back to 1.5mill). They have notified me of multiple daily limit changes, and I also had to set up facial recognition with them. I tried online to increase my transaction amount limit - no can do. I went to my branch and spoke to the bank manager - who told me 'no can do for non-Thai' . Not sure if this is actually true - i am suspecting it is horse manure - just a bit too difficuIt . The only benefit of the K Bank account is that it is very easy to pay PEA. I will slowly drain the account paying my electricity for the next 5 years or so!

That is true in my case, after them speaking to the call center, and also for my wife's account that holds most of our money.
