Waste that was expelled from the gene pool by the good ole Darwin filter it seems^^

  • When he spoke to his mother in the 12th, he said he was going to Pattaya. So they assumed he had and that this is where he went missing. Turns out he never left Bangkok, body was found in his Bangkok

so sad. with a young family, what was he thinking? at that age i didn't even know sex tourism was a thing.

The internet has changed a few things since then.

Drugs? Many died alone in hotel rooms in recent years in BKK after having purchased it.

Well my first thought too, but more like those administered by the infamous black widow types who come to your room and drug and rob you. The arm bandage is a distraction though.....

The matter seems to have been cleared up, per a number of online accounts.

The guy was staying in a hotel on Soi 7/1 in BKK. He was drinking and eating nearby. He fell off his barstool while drunk and was knocked unconscious. An ambulance took him to a hospital, where he was put on an IV (hence the "bandage" over the insertion point). He released himself from the hospital, grabbed a few more beers and went back to his hotel, per CCTV. He died in his bed.

The autopsy will determine the specific cause of death, but it seems there is a paper trail, including his hospital stay, as well as considerable alcohol consumption.

Omg this is a very very sad tragedy

I thought it was Pattaya they found him ??

I'm a little confused

no, Bangkok. He never made it to Pattaya. Sad, I was really hoping he would be found alive. I was following this on facebook.

Tragic, but his actions don't emulate someone who was going to take their life as suggested by some posters; it is someone overindulging in alcohol after just arriving, which we can all be guilty of, I suppose.

It is possible the drunken fall in the bar was more severe than the young guy thought it was when he discharged himself from the hospital.

Sad it is, it is a wonder who the man mentioned is, and why he is looking for him, when he had allegedly just arrived and was travelling alone.

RIP, twenty-one is no age for a young lad to leave this earth.

Sounds to me like alcoholic poisoning, and maybe he had some pills from the hospital washed down with beer.....????????

Date rape OD?

Probably drugs or suicide. But I guess they will find out soon. RIP.

Date rape drug not to be ruled out , his profile looks like he was not suicidal, need to see the toxoligists report RIP, to young to die.

I wonder what the diagnosis of the hospital was? Was there something wrong with him? Or did he” just” fall off his bar stool and hit his head?

Either way, discharging himself and then continuing to drink wasn’t a sensible thing to do.

Perhaps he was hoping to "coerce" him to carry large suitcases of weed back to blighty once his one week holiday was finished.

It is quite common for people in a deep sleep from alcohol, if lying on their back, to choke on their own vomit.

I suppose anything is possible.

He could have flown over here to bathe with the elephants in the rivers of Chiang Mai, I suppose, but it isn't mentioned in the article... and nor is carrying weed!

Might just have been someone he met earlier that evening and who he arranged to meet with later 🤷

Yes that fall could have damaged his head, maybe he was feeling better decided to continue the drinking and he just died in his sleep

Fell off a bar stool and knocked himself unconcious. Taken to a hospital where he would normally be kept under observation for 24 hours for concussion or other head/brain injury. Discharged himself, went back to drinking and subsequently died in his hotel room.

Rest in Peace and condolences to his loved ones.

Is the drugs on the streets in Bangkok laced? Probably, right?

It’s not just Bangkok. Any time anyone buys drugs anywhere you never really know what you’re getting.

Just read the piece on his eating drinking then in hospital discharged himself

Back to the bar takeaway back to his hotel room

Should be a interesting autopsy

RIP

instead of guessing why not go find out from personal experience then you can report back with facts instead of assumptions

Your user name fits. Do you know what a question mark means and how it’s used? There were no “assumptions”. He was asking. Speculating. Not guessing. Do you know the difference? Apparently not. 7 year olds learn question marks and punctuation in school. Your comment is Reprehensible and inappropriate.

What you said. People suffering concussions need medical monitoring, not going back to drinking alcohol alone in his room. (knocked-out = concussion)

Alcohol would contribute to him falling asleep, and once asleep, he may have just slipped away.

Only an autopsy will tell what really happened.

Easy to jump to conclusions. I was staying at the Sheraton 18 years ago on my own on the exec floor. No drunkeness, certainly no drugs. I was just having coffee in the reception area. I felt a bit uneasy so I went to my room. I started with the runs and was getting so severe I started taking rehydration salts. This then set off vomiting. It wouldn't stop, every few minutes I was in the bathroom, coming out both ends. Eventually, my vision went all tunnelled, closing down to nearly nothing. I panicked and called reception for a doctor and ambulance and managed to shuffle to the door and slumped in the doorway shout for help. A brit couple next door heard me and came to my aid before ambulance arrive. To cut a long story short I was in intensive care 3 days, first night my heart rate was 178 all night. I was given a drip and small cups of potassium liquid to regulate my heartbeat, which brought it down. I came out a few days later but was stricken with panic disorder/anxiety for years over this ordeal. This was not related to any alcohol/drugs, maybe heatstroke I don't know but I'm just putting this out to say it doesn't have to necessarily be drink or drug related to get into problems, especially when travelling alone. I guess I was lucky in my outcome. Cheers.

Since he went on a drinking binge, was taken to hospital, discharged himself and continued on his binge, it really looks like your situation was different from his.

Turns out he never left Bangkok, body was found in his Bangkok hotel on the 14th. But took a week for news to reach his family despite missing persons alert. (So much for the utility of the TM30...should have been easy enough for Thai authorities to identify his last whereabouts. For that matter, hotel should have had copy of his passport even if original not found in the room, and authorities should have informed UK Embassy). )

What confuses me is this ! Authorities said Mr Kershaw’s reported last known location is believed to have been in the Walking Street area of Pattaya. The report was recorded by Police Lieutenant Kriengkrai Kaewpipob and logged under reference EV70123256903004U.

They created a Gofundme while he was missing?

It is fortunate that modern tech allows people to keep in touch both easily and cheaply, I was on my travels for weeks in my past without calling home at all.

Sad to hear this kid was found dead, hope we get more information about the circumstances.

Too much fun or too much of something

Sounds like the aftermath of a concussion, together with a lot of alcohol added into the mix.

I find it somewhat troubling that his family already started a GoFundMe at a time when neither they had been informedthat his body was found nor he had missed his flight home yet.

RiP to the young man.

They were anticipating the costs of their search and rescue mission, from the GFM....

"Why we need help

We urgently need to travel to Thailand ourselves to continue the search on the ground. This includes: emergency passport for his mum

• Emergency flights for family members

• Accommodation while we search

• Travel costs within Thailand

• Ongoing expenses while working with local police, hospitals, and authorities"

He was a sex tourist? The report gives the impression that he was more of an alcohol tourist

They didn't want much, did they?

A big ASK, before they knew anything major was amiss.

I understand your point, but in this case, it bears no comparison.

Apples and Oranges.
