As you may know Bangkok Bank needs to order a foreign currency account statement from their head office, this takes like a week to be posted as printed version, but usually a couple of days to be emailed.

Over many years I had a good relationship with the girls in my bank branch and I would opt for email, then go to the bank and emailed them the statement I received as email and they would print it and stamp it for me, then off to the immigration office with only a few days old bank statement.

I never used the post of physical prints because I thought it could come too late, lost or mis-delivered by postman, and maybe not accepted by immigration as it'll be too old...!?

Unfortunately the girls I knew all gone from my branch and the evil new ones + a horrible new lady bank manager totally refuse printing my email last year - even for tip...! I reluctantly had to go to a print/copy shop, then take it back to them to stamp it...!

Now this is doable but I am thinking in the long run it's asking for trouble as I don't trust these print shops for one minute having my bank statements on their computers or phones, this is prime data that has paying hacker customers on the dark web, this kind of data could easily get to the wrong hand, name, address, bank account number, transactions etc. etc.

So what do you guys do, if no printer at home, I'm sure a few other people should have to deal with the same dilemma... - in this beautiful land of smiles with mountains of paperworks, copies and queues and office visits ..! Imagine if we could do all of this online one day...!!! 😯

P.S. this is just the first part of course, I have to also get another letter from the bank confirming I'm the account holder AND update my bank books on the "same" day as going to the immigration office with all of the copies and the rest that you know..., quite a hectic day.

Lucky those who get their bank print their statement right there and then in a matter of minutes, what luxury that is, count your boessing...! 😔

Not really count your blessings..

I opted for bank (any bank other than BBL) that can produce 12 month statement on the spot.

Why not attend bank and order bank statement.

Return when it's available and present to immigration what every other bank does.

Statement signed and stamped by bank.

On top of all that BBL now freezing accounts as requirement to provide Bank Letter.

As far as I know it's not possible to order a Bangkok Bank statement for a foreign currency account and pick it up from the bank itself. The options are either email or post to owner's address... !

As l mentioned physical printed posting could take 5 working days (that's practically 1 week), could mean immigration not accepting it, but I like to hear from people who have gone this route...?

Yes I have been looking to move to another bank, can't believe the various documents they now require, but that's on the plans going forward...

Give Kasikorn a try.

Recent reports of success.

They may require a COR however if you have a Lease try with that first + address back up such as TDL.

You have Non O status so hopefully success..

As always try couple of different branches.

i used a Foreign Currency Account at Bangkok Bank to support my extensions at CW. all they require is the bank letter confirming the balance. no statement. maybe other offices are different.

Depends what method you are using.

Income method for many would require 12 month bank statement.

Even money in bank method may require 12 month bank statement if some months have zero activity.

Just advising care for all concerning using emailed statement. Current experience. I screwed up timing asking for a 12 month statement from Bangkok Bank - Bangkok. Needed for Income Method Visa Extension of Stay-Marriage. Girl told me I could have statement e-mailed in 2-3 days but I would need to print it out. Great! Received it in 2 days, I went to the bank for the confirming letter and was told ... nope, cannot use, has to be mailed back to them from Bangkok. ??? Long story-short the agency I use got it cleared but I still need to bring the mailed listing when it comes in. ah ... Thailand. Going on 15 years so, jai yen yen is part of my nature.

That's very strange, in Phuket they would want a bank statement..., no way they do extension without it, for any visa type...

Of course if we want to criticise the system, an updated bank book (and copy) should really be sufficient for any fund proof - if anybody can fake that then can fake a bank statement...!

But here they are proud of their paperwork and bureaucracy, it's their number one pass time...! 😉

Try another branch or open an account in another bank.
