Have you ever thought about not going anywhere or not be able to go anywhere? Remember last year? Not that I want it to happen again ever, it's just a thought pop up. Sure time flies and here is close to end of 2007!

Hotel xmas event is always 'peng' - don't know how much is peng for you. Let's say for the hotel's event at least or more you have to spend 1500-2000 a person. I'm talking about The Grand Hyatt. Four Seasons, Jw's, Sheraton's kinda hotel.

Pub is most def. cheaper than hotel.

Thanks leqaq

no that sound fine i don't mind paying 2000- 3000 baht per head if its the real deal ,

yes i do remember the events of last year, but i would not let them win by staying home,

(this is my own personal feeling ) soz couldnt spell prefferance preferance preferiance ,,,,,,,, or peng

:o

from what I see advertised...the dinners at some of these 5star hotels mentioned, and also others...seem to rocket and go up by hundreds of percent over their already expensive normal price

but then again...Im just a lowly paid thai....so I suppose its all relative :D

certainly early Christmas planning gee :o

Do tv members have a Xmas do in BKK ? - perhaps some of the cost could be offset by the Forum :D

Or could we join a Xmas do with a footy meet ?? :D

I am back in BKK from Oct to April so I am free... :D

Just a thought but yes back on topic I would also interested in what TV members thought was a good place for a Xmas celebration.

BT :o

Haha. Sure. Xmas is the time when everybody should laugh and joy :D I love xmas. Unfortunately, last year we didn't have not the blast we always do but another kind of bllaaasstt boooom. Hopefully, none of that or any worse kind occurs!

Normally, back in the days when I was younger when family dinner was done I hopped to different places. Never stuck at anywhere, until I dropped.

Now, wish I could have such energy but stay home, make dinner for family and lots of talk amoung us old folks, let them kids out party, at the last hour before Santa comes, a quiet quality time with my love ones in bed and sweet dream .. hmm .. Merry X'mas.

The best Xmas lunches are those you cook yourself!

With the exception of the precooked turkey and ham from Villa :o

Best is at home with friends...

Last year 30 of us all making something different for Christmas, was a great party......... beats any Hotel and paying 6,000 + for 2 hours..

Myself already made the Christmas cake some 3 months ago

In the past few years I have been to The Huntsman and Bourbon Street in BKK and the Pig and Whistle in Pattaya.

All of a muchness and given the wine intake!!!!

My bill was quite a bit in the Huntsman last year due to the wine bill - 19K THB and change

Well that counts too, actually I call putting food on a plate 'cooking', what happened to it before then is anyone's guess!

We went to the Shangri la for two of our Christmas's, the Dubliner last year - you could even consider booking now, they get full, made one ourselves (too expensive and time consuming - let alone hot in our tiny kitchen) and another at the Irish Exchange. I would say the Dubliner was the best of the pub ones although they did tend to rush you in and out..................

I have been to the Huntsman the last two years, and although I agree that it is good, the drinks bill is normally the only gripe that I have :o

I think this year I am going to try one of the British Pubs.

Your mother's, when was the last time you wrote home?

Not last year, but the previous 2 years. We went to the Irish Exchange. When i said we, that was about 15 of us. The food was good and had a decent choice.

Your mother's, when was the last time you wrote home?

Not everyone has that opportunity, as much as some of us would like of us would like to. I'm not sure if that is in jest, a pointed comment or just you trying to be clever? Either way, a pretty tedious and potentially inflamatory post as usual.

Why do people have to try and be clever when someone asks a pretty sensible question?

So whats your point? :D :D :D :D :o
