Mig16 .... and the chocolate thread

Featured Replies

not a hot chocolate recipe, but here is something cooler :)

Toblerone

Ingredients:

* 30 ml Frangelico

* 15 ml Bailey's irish cream

* 15 ml Kahlua

* 75 ml Cream

* 1 tsp Honey

Mixing instructions:

Blend ingrediants with ice until a creamy consistancy is reached (don't add too much ice, this will make the drink too thick). Pour into a *HONEY LINED GLASS*. Garnish with chocolate flakes and an open strawberry.

(I personally prefer the glass lined with crushed almonds, and chocolate syrup poured on top of the drink mmmmmm)

I have found one Kit-Kat after ten pints of Guinness also beneficial........

Migsy...if you're ever down in Samui then I recommend Orgasmic in Bangrak for its pud. Countless different concoctions of chocolate with chocolate sauce.

I'd go there just for that.....the best chocolate pudding I've ever eaten.....and I've had a few.....

Ohhhh

I do love my chocolates

But have heard not so pleasant things about samui?

No plans at this stage but will keep it in mind

What about Arbroath - kippers dipped in molten chocolate with a whipped cream sauce?

I'm so glad that I haven't had breakfast yet.

A common misconception....its haddock not kippers. Not known for its desserts much though I recall fondly the black cherries peach schnapps and cream dish served up at the Old Brewhouse on a rare sunny Sunday afternoon.....got away with that one a few times in my errm younger years.

Long time since I've been in the area.

Doing National Service in the fifties, I used to leave RAF Leuchars, cross the Tay at Perth and go through Dundee, Arbroath, Montrose and back for training. (On a bike). Bloody windy.

I never cycled the route when I lived up there due to the volume of traffic back in the 80's. In the summer we'd take the car to Pitlochry and cycle from there using the old road across the moors through Fife to St Andrews and enjoy an ice cream before driving back to Arbroath.

With the new bypass the roads around there are very quiet....maybe I'll have a go next time I'm up that way.

Ahhh... Pitlochry, that noble town forever enshrined in verse.

There was a young man from Pitlochry

Made love to his girl on a rockery

She said "Jock, you've come

All over my bum"

This isn't a #### it's a mockery.

Where's the chocolates :angry:

That soundman guy is not very sound.

The amount of chocolates he owes me', add interest and such, by now I should have a regular lifetime supply.

Yet he comes on here and dares to talk about icky stuff. :rolleyes:

You realize I have special power on this thread. You are so in trouble ;)

I know, I know, I'm sorry. I did buy some with you in mind MiGgy, but it got eaten somewhere or other. Next time, next time. cool.gif

Yeh right sheesh :lol:

You do realize I'm keeping count :whistling:

CHOCOLATE IN THE NEWS

Chocolate firms find life is sweet amid economic gloom

By Melanie Abbott

Chocolate-makers around the world are reporting buoyant sales despite the economic gloom.

One UK company has reported a 25% surge in profits. In Syria, one of the largest producers has increased sales over the past six years from 150 packs a day to more than a million.

One of its biggest successes is a 2ft-long wafer exported to Iraq called Today King Size.

Has the time come to buy shares of chocolate manufacturers?

Top Ten Chocolate Manufacturers Worldwide

This should probably go in the Investment forum but I think we chocolate lovers should get first crack at it. Mars seems to be privately owned, so here's looking at Hershey: http://www.google.com//finance?chdnp=1&chdd=1&chds=1&chdv=1&chvs=maximized&chdeh=0&chfdeh=0&chdet=1323118800000&chddm=98923&chls=IntervalBasedLine&q=NYSE:HSY&&fct=big

These news stories like the one on BBC always come too late. I should have bought Hershey on November 25, or even better on January 31. I'm buying some Hershey anyway today.

P.S. Bought Hershey (HSY) today at USD 58.525

Oh ye of lil faith

a fren' of mine, he got hold of mexican unsweetened chocolate (where does chocolate come from anyway?) and a way of preparing a traditional mexican chocolate drink and I had some and it was gooood...it wouldn't appeal to the homies down on the streets of LA; they'd probably use it to lubricate their 'low rider' automobiles...

btw...I have a 95 y.o. bolivian auntie whose name is Migue (pronounced 'Miggy') which is short for Miguelina which is the feminine equivalent of Miguel...my grandfather wanted a boy...

:rolleyes:
