actually my ID shoulda been MiG29 .... not sure why I used 16 at that time....must have been my silly humour of a hybrid between MiG29 and F16 :D

problem is no one gets my drift and keep telling me there is no MiG16 :D

Miggy, I just read that dark chocolate is an anti-oxidant, like blueberries and garlic and green tea, which are very healthy, or so they say. Eat away, Girl. 555

jet thanks for bringing this to the attention of our forum members :D

and yes beside having antioxidant (which by the way in dark chocolate is higher than in red wine, or all that green tea that the marketing world has been trying to sell (successfully I must admit) to the thai people). but other than that even my indulgence in all sorts of milk chocolates, pralines and what not isnt totally bad :D

Chocolate is good for mental health as well....I kid you not when I say that it has helped me out of depression and such moods on more than one occasion. chocolates contains Seratonin and Phenylethylamine both of which are mood lifting agents found naturally in the human brain and released when we are feeling happy or in love :D

Eating chocolate also releases these agents into the system, thus it can provide a 'lift' when we are feeling down or depressed. ---scientific research not my words :o

I first read about an article to this effect since I was still a realllll young kid....think it was in reader's digest :bah:, and even that it can be good for your heart (hypertension relief....not the lovey dovey feeling in this case :D )

if you like milk chocolate u dont have to feel too guilty......just choose the ones with higher cocoa content, and less sugar.....

in my case...well I just choose what looks good :bah:

alright alright...enough of this technical stuff :o

PS. googled after i posted and found this site with even more interesting benefits....including help with aging, acne, heart, depression and antioxidant

Does it help with obssesions?

If so, eat more mig!

speaking of obsessions......

I guess mine is ermmm :o nevermind :bah:

anyway today someone I know was trying to tempt / bribe me...but little does he know...as offering some 8 small pieces of italian chocolates in return for something :D little does he know...I told him thats enough to just be a hello greeting hehehe

so somehow we started talking about the chocs Ive tried and reminded me of some of these ones....I wish I could post pics...but only had some of them once and was since last year...cant find them in thailand...but will mention them here in case some kind souls wanna send them over :o

well ofcourse theres the usual belgian /swiss thingies that are always good.....

but people dont seem to realise that even the Daim (swedish) choc arent bad.

but interestingly I was once given chocs from Costa Rica.... didnt look that appealing from the wrap....some guava filling chocolate it said...and I thought to myself huh?? but turned out to be one of the best chocs Ive tasted.

another time I was in ShangHai China of all places...dropped by at the supermarket..bought a few junk food (as I do on my supermarket trips :D) amongst them I picked up random chocolates...thinking its afterall chinese cant be good (from experience) what I didnt realise was there was one little bar of some smooth chocolate coated in other layers of chocolates mmmmmm made in brazil!!! was the yummiest choc Ive ever had!!! trouble is....i cant trace it...cos dont know what its called....only know that it doesnt exist in thailand :D

now...a call to those living in china...please make a wander to your nearest supermarket......browse the candy-ish section for this black and brown small pack of chocolates....has a picture of the round chocolate on its package.....comes in size of 3 little round chocs per pack. buy a dozen times 24 of these and send them over :D your mission accomplished :bah:

good luck in your quest :D :D , but you should of kept the wrapper :o

:o yeh maybe should have...but hey maybe I was less obsessed 3 years ago :D or maybe the thought of carrying around a piece of junk amongst my luggage didnt occur to me

or maybe in hindsight it tastes even better than at the time...or else Id have made more effort to go back and get some more :D or maybe I didnt think it was too special then....and that Id always get more and more and more special chocolates each place I go :D

but oh well :D

the Ms maybe whos definitely an addict and obsessed :bah: ...who also overdoes the emoticons......but just cant help herself

Never worry, next time I'm in Europe I'll grab you a bar (or two) of Frigor Noir.. sublime Swiss choc.. even better than the cuckoo clock.. :o

Frigor Noir.. sublime Swiss choc.. even better than the cuckoo clock.. :o

I hate to be pedantic (that's a lie, I love it)

The cuckoo clock did not originate in Switzerland.

Ah.. Apologies, I stand corrected. :o I see so many when I'm there that I assumed it to be a Swiss invention. ..(dangerous I know)

As a matter of interest who has the dubious honour of introducing this exotic timepiece to an unsuspecting world?

Black Forest of Germany....... around the 17th century I think ..... a few years back I did a tour of Switzerland, it included a visit to the Clock Museum, the Musée international d'horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds. They took great pains to point out that that particular clock had nothing to do with Switzerland when the question was asked by a tourist who wondered why there was a lack of them on display.

BTW ..... back on topic.

Black Forrest Gateaux ........ best chocky cake ever ;:D

Did that thin connection work :D

Far too filling and fattening.

Stick to something light and healthy.

Like profiteroles.

An ice-cream filling (rather than cream) is much more refreshing after a heavy repast.

post-26562-1178990565_thumb.jpg

Who said Black forest cake ??

Ah, Schwarzwelderkirschtorte, my favourite!

Not sure about those images!

Thanks for the info Thaddeus. Needless to say I had to search for a chocolate cuckoo clock...

post-31374-1179029247_thumb.jpg

Not very impressive I'm afraid..but it's the best I could find..

LOL thanks ed...still doesnt get you off the hook for not sharing a bday cake...and now it looks like I gotta start a happy bday thread?? :D or is some nice person gonna do that....... :o

those profiteroles look yummy farangsay!! and mmmmm to get them with icecream would be yummy yummy yummy!!

reminds me of some shop that used to be in siam square that claimed they did these really good icecream centred apple pie-like filling. they claimed the recipe was from australia. they shut down 3 years ago though....i cant understand why they went bust cos it was sooooooooooo good!!! it was on the ground floor of the vietnamese restaurant (which by the way later had to move out of siam sqaure too)

but yes back to the bliss of chocolate.......mmmmmm my dose for today.....ritter sport krisp :D
