Stopped in to Kawasaki ChiangMai today to take a look.

Counted 29 of them sitting there.

Sales lady said all sold & another batch in a month.

No test rides allowed at all :(

kind of tough way to sell after coming from the US

where you can take it out on the road & decide

They do look clean in person though

Well put together package nice lines.

Love that red and white one. Did you get an on the road price?

You know that red is better in person

Previously I had only seen pics & it looked a little too gaudy

But in person it is quite nice

I did ask about price but all in Thai & she was speaking a bit faster than my comfort zone.

I recognized the price as I had heard previously at 158,500

I asked about 1 year full insurance & this one I may not have caught perfectly but

believe it was 3xxx ? 3000 something smile.png per year

should be closer to 8000Baht for 1st class per year smile.png

Or 8985Baht at my local dealer in Bangkok

Thanks Karlos like I said she was speaking a bit quick for my Thai translating brain :)

But that price you quote was that for a 250 or 650 bike?

If it was the N300 here at that price I'd probably go for it.

Yeah it is a pity that they would intro the 300 only in some countries.

But that aside the only difference I have ever been able to figure between them is the

displacement gained by the increased stroke of the 300 being 49mm vs the 41.2 of the 250r

Both share the same bore of 62mm

That & the new slipper clutch is about the only things different.

Which again really makes one wonder why have the two?

I read somewhere it has something to do with taxation on where the bike is built if over a certain size.

that was for the 250

650 costs a few baht shy of 12,000 (11,995, if memory serves correct)

but they really nailed the design, i am still thinking to buy it, the only problem is that i cant hang my shopping bags anywhere on this bike, that is the problem

but I want to buy it really, the 2012 model does not look that good

And I love the green one! If you compare kawo to honda 250r mess, that looks like a baby cart

Think the red/white/black one passed me head on today.

Caught me a bit off guard so didn't get a chance to see if it was in fact the new N250.

If so it was certainly 'big' looking.

Yes they do look full sized

But the wife & I were passing the dealer today & stopped

My wife really likes that red one & we sat on it.

It does not feel large at all. Not like a 6-900RR type anyway

But yes it does look very good in all three colors IMO

They did a good job with design

I just wish I didn't have to wait so long for mine. sad.png

Well I may have to wait longer than you :(

After looking & looking at what bikes are available here

& value for what your getting, I went & put a deposit on one today too.

I think it will have a good grin factor we will see. smile.png

I remember when I fist saw the old ninja in bkk from a distance I actually thought it was a zx 10 ,the new models look great the red looks good reminds me of an r6 for some reason.

Yes they did a great job on styling especially with these 2013 models.

Will be hard for them to beat themselves next year I think

I agree too on the Red & that is what I ordered

We all know Kawasaki is a Green Machine smile.png

But I ordered Red partially because I liked it best although I would be ok with any of the three colors they

have this year but also because the Red was possibly? the shortest delivery time. ( Just guessing )

The sales girl told me the majority of orders were understandably for Kawasaki Green.

So the wait would be longest for that one.

If folks living in Bangkok want a black one Real Motorsport has one available ( or did yesterday)

due to a customer backing out. I considered it but do not live in BKK & the reg would be there with all the hassles

ever after. So I ordered locally

I like the look of the solid red for Indonesia too..

The first thought I had when the new one came past me head on was 'R6 or CBR600'.

Then it passes very quietly and obviously wasn't either. Holy shit, that was the new ninja. Nice bike.

When the rental shops have this and the new CBR500 I think it's going to be a day's test ride of both. :)

Congratulations! Lovely looking bike and having owned the previous model for 4 and a half years I can say they hold up pretty well. This pic was taken last weekend...

Thanks lazer

Lady said one to two months

Will see, I get the impression they do not really know.

Congrats, it's the best looking affordable bike (for us normal folk) in Thailand by far :)

I think Kawasaki have really nailed the looks with this bike. The black/grey is a cracker. Along side it my ER6N looks like it's maiden aunt.

Yes they did good on it for sure. I was leaning heavily in the black/grey direction myself.

But thought I could do something cool with some wraps on the white side panels of the red one

Hey I saw that new Matte Black ER6 in the showroom today. not bad at all too.

True that ! when you consider what is available & what you get.

I was thinking of your old NC I saw pics of here a couple of days ago in an old post because

I almost went for a NC35 but given my situation now I do not have a real work

space & even though the one I was looking at was really well done I know there would

be future work & tear downs.

Arghhhhhhh, i nearly got that beauty out of my head..... biggrin.png

She was a great bike, but you'll have just as many thrills and laughs on the 2013 N250, plus it looks even better than my old NC30 with it's CBR kit biggrin.png

If i had some spare cash i wouldn't hesitate to buy a 2013 N250, would prefer the 300 but it's not coming here any time soon according to Kwakersaki sad.png

But back to the NC30/35, now i love getting my hands dirty and stripping things down (talking about bikes here!) 555 but there's always a slight paranoia with riding a 20 year old bike that's never had an MOT in it's life (but would a Thai MOT be up to scratch)... The only way to be completely at ease is to replace all hoses, bearings and seals, tighten everything down to the correct torque and so on and so forth. But even then it never ends. The N250 is a much safer and rewarding buy in my opinion.

I said the exact same thing to a guy that works with me, he too wanted to buy my bike and was going to offer me a handsome sum of money for it, but I gave him the low down on ownership and told him what else he could have for similar money. He went for the N250 also......... Not much of a salesman am I?? LMAO biggrin.png
