Another update on Hong Kong Wok.

A dish which I originally mistranslated as something bland like lo mein noodles turned out to be a really big surprise! Spicy snail noodles!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luosifen

 螺蛳粉

I didn't realize what it was until later. Glad I didn't know it before. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise and yes it was tasty.

What was it?

Delightfully  very al dente pho noodles with pickles, nuts, and some sort of small bits of thin dried loaf, perhaps snail based perhaps pork based ok definity mystery meat. The broth a very spicy red broth probably a powdered package imported.from China that has snails.

Taiwanese soy sauce pork rice bowl under sets. This is a famous dish  Often the meat is fatty pork belly but this wasn't but good because I could eat most of it. Boiled egg,. Bok choy. Usually the egg is soy sauce soaked. This wasn't. Includes a delicious side chili based flavoring sauce.

Needless to say I'm having fun checking out the shifting menu at Hong Kong Wok.

I'm craving for authentic Yunnan noodles, does it exist here?

There's a Yunnan village in Northern Chiang Mai on the border to Burma called Aronathai, old lady at a restaurant got me hooked on it.

I seriously doubt that it's available here.

I have had it in Chiang Mai several times but long ago.

Last week, had the Monday special at Rock Factory, open air music bar near Tree Town. Was a decent feed for 199B, pork was really tender and plentiful.

Only drawback was the SML, which was over priced at 95B.

Food looks good. Me & Mrs MD used to eat there often when we visited Pattaya, but it was called Rich Bar then.

any review of Alan burgers please ?

Better than McDonald's.

My 10 year old son liked them, I liked that they fried the onions they put on.

If you are on a budget and don't eat Thai food it's a solution.

It is what it is, cheap burgers and they're not trying to hide it.

Tried it on two locations and they are consistent.

หวังไก่อาหารจีน

Searching in English won't work.

The prices went up on Grab since yesterday!

I disappointed in the Honest Indian.....The only Indian food I think is worth ordering on Grab and they are closed all the time....I think they are closed much more than open these days....

Yes, ironically soon after I talked up Honest Indian here they started to be almost always closed.

I don't have a current replacement either that I like as much.

How we suffer!
