Crazyswede Died In A Motorcycle Accident

Recommended Posts

I too am sorry about the death of this man, and don't mean any disrespect, but there is no information as to what transpired to take the life of the Crazyswede. It apparently happened near his village/home near Surin, and that another poster mentioned that he had heard - heard, mind you - that another car was involved. No proof, just 2nd hand information. Then a bit more speculation and comments regarding Thai drivers.

But what actually happened? And how did he die (blunt force trauma to the head, possibly because he wasn't wearing a helmet)? And was his Harley, as many Harley owners are wont to do, fitted with loud aftermarket pipes, because some riders are certain that 'loud pipes save lives!'? (which in this case possibly, proof that loud pipes are just loud annoying pipes and don't do squat to save lives - my opinion, in that I don't know if he in fact had loud pipes on his bike - just saying!).

In my opinion, the only thing that saves your life on a motorbike is the attitude and abilities of the rider. As a rider, I know that you can't for one moment let down your guard and take your eye off the road. Perhaps the Crazyswede was looking at his map or GPS, looking into his cellphone, maybe fiddling with his radio controls (if he had a radio on the bike, or CD player or whatever) or doing something else for just a brief moment before realizing that he was about to have an accident with ??? ).

All this is speculation, and no one will ever know the exact details. However, there is not ANY information regarding this tragic death. But I would like to know if the Crazyswede always wore a good helmet and other safety gear while riding his bike, and that these failed to mitigate the situation that took his life, or was the Crazyswede another victim of 'false notions' about safety and freedom.

For someone intent on not causing disrespect - you somehow managed it !

RIP CrazySwede, I shall miss your humour on the local forum.

How exactly?

I was asking questions about what happened, and got answers that debunked some of the speculation. That was disrespect?

I think it would have been better if you had just asked if someone had details about the accident instead of adding a lot of insinuations to your post.

Looking on the bright side of all this, it does make one wonder if others would have as many posts written about them, as my good and funny friend, CRAZYSWEDE?

Driving a motorcycle can be dangerous all around the world. Your statement really sucks and makes me angry.

Many people die because of diseases cancer and other BS. Many people have never experienced the feeling to have a big bike and take it out after work, weekends, and holidays.

Sorry, but people who die from diseases often don't have any choice in the matter (apart from things like drinking, smoking and drugs), and just as often, didn't knowingly do anything during their lifetime to intentionally cause their disease and ultimate death.

Motorcycle riding, no matter how satisfying or enjoyable is may be, hardly belongs in the same category, being a person's pure and voluntary choice to engage in a dangerous hobby, even more dangerous in Thailand.

The feeling is fantastic.

Driving around with other bikers. We drove to many locations, donated money for poor kids, schools, etc.

Remember to tell that to the wives and children left behind...

The original report was sketchy on details, yet other posters made comments speculating that "another vehicle" involved - obviously driving by a Thai (with no proof) - was likely responsible for the accident.

And Dilligad made no effort to set the record straight.

But I'm criticized for making insinuations, because I felt others were jumping to conclusions and deciding that motorcycling in Thailand, as a consequence of what happened to the CrazySwede, was too dangerous to pursue and talking about dropping their ambition at getting a bike and doing some riding. I tried to point out that you have to have your sh*t together when you ride, but otherwise, it is a worthwhile endeavor.

Flame on!

By all accounts he was steaming drunk and refused a lift back in a car, but chose to ride home after a day/night of heavy drinking at the bikeshow.

RiP.

And a lesson to people who might think of doing the same.

If that is the case I have not much respect for him but i feel for his wife and child.

I hope his death will be a "lesson" for those guys who drive in a state of complete intoxication, and never had an accident on a motorcycle before.

So sad his death and the circumstances for his family might be, the world will keep on turning. And so will the wheels of so many bikers. In the end we all have to go one day/.....blink.png

Wow...

"By all accounts"???

Whose accounts???

The people who were drinking with him, and whom he refused to go home with in order to stay there longer.

Sad to hear of the passing of a fellow biker, and one who seems to have been well respected. Surely another thread is more appropriate for road safety lessons. Condolences to his family.

@cbrer. That is not true as I was with him at the bike show and rode there with him too. He did not refuse to go home with us as we left without seeing him on Sunday morning. Are you a defence lawyer, by any chance? 555

@qdinthailand. He was alone so i am unable to 'set the record straight' as i wasnt there. I am VERY careful to differentiate between facts and assumptions.

As mario299 says, it is a very sad situation nomatter what type of helmet, underpants, beer or truckdriver was involved.

Why can't HD drivers were helmets that protects the head. ?

In this tragic accident it would not have helped anyway but helmets do save lifes, I'm amazed to see how many bikers out there driving without a helmet.

They must think they belong to a superior race.

Why do so many people drive around without a brain?

I drove without a helmet for most of the time, because my windshield kept the bugs and flies away, knowing that it's risky. My personal freedom, away from my family, school nonsense, etc. Just the bike and me.

I've seen many friends dying through motorcycle accidents, I destroyed my leg that I'm using an artificial knee joint now. Broke various other bones before. But I'd never stop driving.

With, or without a helmet.

It doesn't freaking matter if Crazyswede was drunk, or not. He's gone and won't be back. Keep your wheels rolling.......

As a Lambretta/Vespa Mod of the 60's, we didn't wear crash hats, in fact l wore a pork pie hat biggrin.png and a cigarette. laugh.png

Until the law made it compulsory, but the difference in UK is that if you were spotted without a crash hat zillions of cops would try and catch you, NOT here eh. coffee1.gif .

I agree with you completely it does matter a lot. Too many farangs drinking and driving. I feel for his family either way, but no feeling for him if he were drunk.

The other guy has to live with this that is not easy either.

If that was true, and it's a big IF, I think my feelings on this are well known on Thaivisa, therefore I won't say any more.

There's just some "speculation" that he had been drunk. i don't really know if there's another car involved. I don't want to come to any conclusions, not knowing what really happened.

Did he cause the accident drunk and drove into a truck? My statement was more sarcastic, that it doesn't matter now if he was drunk, or not, as he's dead.

Was it his fault and he was drunk, then it's of course not good for the innocent truck driver. Sorry for my misinterpretation. RIP bro.--wai2.gif
