Well chanchao statred the original thread. Which i believe was about who would have the last word before it was closed.

Actually, the original was a mental musing by chanchao about how it seemed that certain people liked to make sure they had "The Last Word" in every thread. It then became a contest with various people continuously trying to get "The Last Word" in before that thread was shut down. It quickly became the most active thread in the whole Bedlam forum (with yours truly accounting for over 20% of the replies alone)

It was also one of the few Bedlam threads that wasn't political, or hijacked by political discussions. Kinda of like the show Seinfeld, a show about......nothing. Same for "The Last Word", a thread about......nothing.

Now this thread has been started because Kerry needed a way to ge his post count up and to keep flirting with Glauka . So these 2 are the main posters in this thread, with the rest of us just posting a note or two just to take the piss

This thread was actually started by Tippaporn, in response to "The Last Word" being shut down. He noted that certain mods had been going back to the final post and editing it, so as to have the Last Word themselves (and it is still going on).

Glauka and I are just friendly competitors. I offered to fly to Spain and fix her computer (permamently ) and she offered to put poisonous snakes in my bed (there's gratitude for you) !

Since then, another "The Last Word" thread has been started, but is no where near as popular as the original.

daleyboy does a similar routine in the "RAIN" thread, but will soon find his position as number one poster in jeopardy

The original "The Last Word" (started by chanchao) is still closed, and is sitting down around #60 on the list of topics.

The duplicate thread (started by me) gets the occassional reply, just enough to keep it on the first page. I actually started it as an experiment, to see if you could have two threads with the same title in the same forum.

It just doesn't have the same appeal as the original though

I detest the 'Last Word" thread, but support the right of the less mentally gifted to enjoy it, however, isn't ONE of them enough?
