Not been quite that long generally speaking, in my experience. But where DWP do drag their feet big time is in paying out temporary increases during trips to the UK - which has usually taken at least 3 months in my case. And all they then do is to plonk some seemingly random amount into your bank account without providing any written explanation as to how it is made up!

I did not find that they took too long to respond to my email queries but they were a bit limited in their responses and sometimes it was better to call them (bang on 8am uk time = not a long wait time) and chat: sometimes the officer was helpful other times the officer offered limited information/responses. Perseverance is required.
