Online 90 day reporting available from April 1st

BANGKOK: A spokesperson for Thailand’s Immigration Bureau has confirmed the new online service for 90 day reporting will be effective from April 1st 2015.

Col. Worawat Amornwiwat confirmed on Thursday that foreign nationals in Thailand will now be able to report their address via the Immigration Bureau’s website, rather than having to attend their local immigration office in person or send the notification by registered mail.

Col. Worawat said the new service has been introduced as part of Thailand’s integration into the ASEAN Economic Community and will provide more convenience for foreigners staying in Thailand.

Foreign nationals staying in Thailand can make their 90 day report online by completing the form at https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.do or by visiting the main ]Immigration Bureau website

Whilst the new service of online 90 day reporting is likely to be largely welcomed by many expats and foreign nationals residing in Thailand, the downside is that the service is only currently available via Microsoft’s Internet Explorer - a web browser which Microsoft has recently said it will replace as part of the launch of Windows 10 later this year.

Immigration officials have said that the online 90 day reporting service will hopefully be available on other web browsers at some point in the future but have not given any further indication of when this will be.

After being originally announced in February there have been various discussions[/size on the Thaivisa Forum related to online 90 day reporting, with some expats raising concerns about the security and efficiency of the system being able to service what is an important requirement for foreign nationals who live in Thailand.

Nice one.

I have just done mine online, but when I clicked on "send" I didn't get any confirmation message. Email confirmation would be ideal. I will send my documents by post just in case.

If you got beyond the first page where you enter you personal info without getting the popup telling you to contact your local immigration office you should of gotten to the point where you get a verification number for your application.

After you get the verification number you have to check later to see if your receipt for the report is available for printing.

Bravo, at last, Thailand is moving forward into the 21st century, I just hope that this is the prelude

to easier and better things to come to make foreigners life here a lot easier...

This is welcome news. Was there any information if you will be able to change your address without the landlord/owner/wife submitting a TM 30 and you a TM 28 physically to your Immigration Dept?

Will this online 90-day reporting be limited to only Bangkok area residents? Or will upcountry folks also be able to utilize it?

Those two things will have to be done in person at an immigration office. They will never get to the point where you could do that online.

Joe

I just tried your url in SRWare, a Chrome clone, works fine. Same with FireFox. Do get the notice that it's for IE only, but then the Immigration www site pops up OK. I downloaded the user guide.

you may have to move to Bangkok .....

Once fully implemented it will be possible for those living in all parts of the country.

Actually surprised to see that they are using http instead of https for the infrastructure for this service.

More for users confidence in adding security layers to personal information submission than anything else, truth be known ..........................wink.png

Could the announcement or some step-by-step instructions be pinned in this forum for future reference?

But is it secure? You are posting your passport details and other identity imformation!

You should read "Online 90 day reporting available on April 1st"

Shirley, it will be simple and straightforward to use, being written by Thai web designers. And well-maintained, too...

No need instructions.

always a bit concerned about things that start on April 1st........

apparently you need Internet explorer. Trust immigration to use a browser that even Microsoft are finished with.....

Anyone else see the irony of opening up the program on this date? clap2.gifcheesy.gif

90 day report online is currently NOT recommended:

As HTTP Secure is NOT provided. https://extranet.immigration.go.th/pibics/online/tm47/TM47Action.do

xHTTPS.jpg.pagespeed.ic.6_OXkBy7q6Y2Um0I

The transmission of your sensitive and personal information is currently only offered via an insecure and unauthenticated online connection.

Please be warned, you are at increased risk of identity theft and fraud using this service in its current form.

If you have Firefox

Install Add-on User Agent Overrider

Select IE 11

Then it works with Firefox

At some point in the future... so currently only available on a browser nobody uses //

Nobody? IE still is more used than Firefox, Safari or Opera

and - mainly - is *available* on most Windows PC

BTW did you read the original article ?

The service currently requires the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

The bureau hopes to make it compatible with other popular browsers later.

Given that it only works on Internet Explorer they have only moved into the 20th century... coffee1.gif
