Dear all,

As a PR holder I’m entered into my wife’s Blue Book for the house that she owns. My question is whether she should have done a TM.30?

When PR holders stay at hotels that ask for your TM6 departure card, its always confused as to what happens next when you don’t have one. Often they just take my passport details & that’s it.

Also, never did a TM.28. Assumed its not needed.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

As said. you don't need to submit the TM30 etc.

Why don't you just show your driving licence (if you have one) or the Residence Permit. As a permit holder you don't need to carry a passport.

you must have an alien registration book. You use this instead of a passport. On the hotel registration form you will see "alien card number" you fill this in as the number shown in your alien registration book. Unless you want to leave Thailand you don't need a passport. Also as a PR you get your own blue ambien baan..

Thanks Ubonjoe.

Thanks Gamini, didn’t realise I should be using my Red Alien Book for this purpose. Normally I only travel with my Passport & Residence Permit. Red Book stays at home locked in the safe…...less chance of it falling apart!

Go get yourself the pink Thai ID card for PR holders from your local umphur. It works like a charm! Takes about one month to get it.

Also, I just found out that whoever has the old type pink lifetime drivers license needs to get the new plastic type like the Thais have before December 31, 2558 or it will be revoked?! The cost is155 Baht and it is still good for life as before and can be used within Asean countries. Need a copy of your pink Thai ID card or alien book I assume...Going this month to get mine.
