No information on entry of Daesh militants to Thailand - Thai PM

BANGKOK: Thai authorities have stepped up surveillance in Bangkok and the country's border in wake of the terror attack in Jakarta yesterday, but until now had not received any information on the entry of Daesh (IS) militants into the country.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said, the country had increased security cooperation with its neigbouring countries in an effort to stamp out any threat from the Daesh militant group.

"I am sure that I have not disguised anything (about the Daesh threat), but there is no information of those people's (Daesh militants) entry into Thailand," he told reporters after visiting Thailand Stock Exchange's new

building in Din Daeng here, today.

You'll probably know when they cross the border. They usually drive around in Toyota pickup trucks carrying AK47s and have big black flags with evil looking writing on.

if you hear the cry " allh akbr " you will no somethings going down, and find the location, of ( IS ) militants, just may be a little late,

A positive note is that lots and lots of normal Thai's own guns meaning that Thai citizens are not a soft target for ISIS militants as people in Europe are [ except Swiss ] and the UK . Imagine if ISIS militants tried to rape women in Texas !.... Bang!....brains splattered all the way back to the middle east.

Do you think they will recognise them or are we being optimistic?

Maybe, maybe not. Based on past performance here, people might just stand around and watch. Been known to happen. coffee1.gif

And, just because the PM does not have any information, does not mean they did not cross the border. as another poster mentioned, it seems that all they might need is a small brown envelope. coffee1.gif

If caught, cut off their gonads, force feed them bacon, tie them up good and put them in a sty with a dozen Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs and forget they were put there.

He wouldn't know if they were already in the next room ! Thai ''Intelligence Services'' are well known for not being very intelligent and besides; a big enough brown envelope will get anyone into the country.

Junta-head should take a cue from Yes Prime Minister! As Jim Hacker said in the first episode in 1986,"We should always tell the press freely and frankly anything that they could easily find out some other way".

No doubt, the RTP are up to the challenge.

last i heard....they were accepting "volunteers" on the internet...and providing training/instructions online.

They don't physically have to enter the country that way.

I am sorry I was not aware that everyone had to declare their religion upon entering , and in reality if they were ISIS they certainly would NOT tell you Mr PM. So get a life and live . In ahighly policed with very good intelligence do not know who they all are , hence the Paris bombings and other attacks across the globe. Thailand is not immune just lucky.

The Minister of Tourism isn't concerned about them as long as they register properly and she knows how many there are so she can inflate the figures and add them to her ridiculous visitor arrivals claim.

I'm beginning to come around to the 'they must have somewhere to holiday' theory. After all, they'd fit in really rather well with all the criminals on the run setting up here. Only costs a few baht ..

If, heaven forbid, IS do something here the authorities will have painted themselves in a massive loss of face corner as they won't want to admit thy were caught out because they knew nothing and can't claim they knew they were here and monitoring them because how were they allowed to do whatever it is they pull ?

You seem to forget now in Australia, Muslim Proffessors have proven that it is okay for muslim men to rape ladies in their are enough men to say they now own then by sheer numbers

It is also legal under their law to rape children

Pattaya may soon have some new clubs just for this satisfactions

If Australian Politicians are to scare to take up the fight, do you feel Thailand will ??

What a rediculous statement to make, "there is no record of the IS entering thailand"! Do they expect them to be carrying people's heads and ak47's with them when they go through immigration just so that they can be identified easily? These people look just like us so why would th pm think that there should be some information on their entry?!?

Good post. Really makes you wonder about the powers that be. Get Donald Trump over here and he will sort it out quickly.. Maybe all muslims should be sent back to Sandland and let the good guys fight the bad guys. If the good guys win, let them return and live a happy life. If the bad guys win, nuke em
