Anyone know of a western style Chinese restaurant in KK or Udon Thani?

Featured Replies

Don't really want seafood. Like Cantonese style same we have back home

The nearest you will get in KK is on the first floor of the Pullman Hotel.

Good food, but it ain't cheap.

<deleted> is western style Chinese food?

Chinese Thai restaurants everywhere which I much prefer to Thai restaurants......No idea if it is 'Cantonese' style but, understandably, the Thais put their own 'slant' on everything......usually the 'kiss of death'.........lol.......555.

I have never noticed a 'pure' Chinese restaurant in Udon, but maybe there is one.

Never eaten there, but, If you ever go over the border, there is one highly recommended in Vientianne.

The Chinese restaurants in Oz have a modified version of Chinese food. I like their chicken chow mein and special fried rice. Totally different to Chinese food I've had in Malaysia, Singapore and HK.

The closest I've come to the Aussie Chinese taste was in a Vietnamese restaurant in Nong Khai. Their Vietnamese fried rice was the same as served by Aussie Chinese takeaways.

'Western' style is a difficult concept.

Chinese is highly variable, and gets modifies market by market. Even in the US Chinese food varies from San Francisco to New York to Boise.

All that being said, I do like the Chinese restaurant in the Khon Kaen Pullman

Nok at the Book house in Udon cooked me some excellent sweet and sour chicken balls and chicken chow mien English Chinese style and it was fantastic
