Kicking the Climber over this AM,

the lever broke at ignition.

The local shop had a spare,

not exact but close enough for now.

Also tightened some fender screws & such.

340baht.

Got a nice ride in

and back in town before noon.

Of course it threw the helmet away.  Bears are notorious for not wearing them...

Crack-of-noon start for KMK activities today.

Took new rear tire for Climber out and dropped by mech,
(who surprisingly was open this Sunday), for mounting.
Popped across the hiway to the
Thai restaurant for some Khao pad gai
& one of their iced coco drinks.
These are really excellent, 19baht.
Lots of Thai dirt-bikers riding around
and some joined me for lunch.
One young man from BKK was on an old Beta trials bike
and another showed up on  a really old Yamaha trials bike.
Prolly 30 and 40 years old.
Agreed to go out with them
but my mech had problems with the new tire mount
and she didn’t get out until after 4.
So a short solo ride & back to town.

So out riding KMK trail yesty

met a Brit, running club member, Graham.
He was riding Suzuki VanVan125.
Doing some trail lopping.
These guys have been the main source of trail development
& maintenance at KMK these past 5 or 10 years.
They recently did a nice by-pass of a washed-out section.
Thank you running club.

Yesty, the kick-start lever fell off during a crash.
Found it, but retaining nut missing.
Today heading to mt on Lifan 200DS noticed front tire no air.
Went to shop for new tube,
chain adjust & lube, top-up brake fluid rear.
Also grabbed new retaining nut for Climber; B340 all.
Tip 100.
On trail. nearly ran over a 8” turtle.
All good.

Someone has cleared the trail at the tree-fall areas.

Coming back in today,

somehow lost the spring that holds the side-stand up.

Secured it temporarily with a cord,

and shop replaced it with a spring they had in stock.

20 baht.

Putting a new DID o-ring chain on today.

539baht/ Lazada.

Went to install chain.

Found front 13-tooth sprocket very worn, so replaced.

Also found seal behind sprocket leaking, so replaced.

The chain tension adjusting bolt (R) on the swing arm

was seized-up,

wouldn't move under wrench,

so had to weld a T-wrench to the bolt,

& heat the surrounding metal to get it out.

Chased threads with tap and

replaced bolt, and good to go.

Almost 3 hrs labor;

total bill 450baht.

... no, need to check that out.

Pretty gnarly as I see it.  Big place.  Last big forest in the province.

The wind and the rain we had yesterday should make tomorrows ride interesting ????

Did some trail clearing today.

Used bow-saw to cut out

a tree fallen across trail.

Two cuts; 4" and 6" diameters.

Sweaty.

Seen more than a few Yoyos on GS1250, Tigers, etc. on my trips down rutted dirt tracks on my CRF

Duck walking their behemoths down the trail, two galvanized garbage cans hanging off the sides and another one on top, enuf for a trip to Mars probably.

Over 275 Kg empty, let alone full with a 100 Kg rider added on.

Adventure !!! 555

Out to KMK this AM.

Flat on rear of Climber.

Noticed leaky around stem after air-up.

Over to shop.

Little mechanic took the wheel off-site to have re-tubed.

(Two rim-locks.)

Came back after 1/2-hr or so.

B340.

Short ride thereafter.

Papa Al, you been practicing?

Get up stand up.  Fall down when you ride ...

I once did the Superman thing up in Loei about 1978 when I broadsided some kids on a scooter.  But I didn't have a cape, just a big sack of charcoal.  And I flew over the bars and landed on my belly.

Trouble w/ Climber.

Yesty went for PM ride.

Bike quit abruptly about a km out.

Pushed her back to shed. Svety.

This AM took to shop for carb clean.

New line filter.

Still running poor.

Thinking about replacing the carb,

maybe 20 years old.

Damn now I have to convert minute miles to kms !

My best ever is 10kms in 22 mins. I think that is pace 4.35. Marathon pace is 5.30

Just wondered is Monkey had anything to do with Pattaya Monkey Hash?
