Day 4. Sunday Sept 18. 11 ½ hrs approx 372km

Buon Ma Thuot to Kon Tum. I Left with high expectations this morning. No rain and better scenery to be seen weather permitting.

Just out of Buon Ma Thuot about 20 km, there was a war memorial for the men lost in the war with America. These places always make me think the <deleted> up Politian’s should be leading the countries forces from the front.

I agree, if politicians knew they would be on the direct front line with a personal battle to the death with another government leader, I think there would be far fewer wars.

Too many sites like this in Vietnam.

Day 59. Nov 12. 136 km

Hue to Da Nang via the Hai Van Pass. This pass is famous now since Top Gear filmed part of their Christmas special show there. It’s a great ride, but there are better passes and mountain roads in Vietnam.

There were great views and good weather, but too many tourists.

I found this beach when exploring back roads on my way to Da Nang.

Thailand please take note, motorbikes are allowed on bridges in Vietnam. They are not dangerous. I have never been attacked by a bridge!

Quite emotional walking this site, glad I was alone.

Day 66. Nov 19. 234 Km

Quang Ngai to Qui Nhon. Tried to follow the coastal route to Qui Nhon, but was defeated by serious rain and minor flooding so cut back to AH1. Drenched on arrival!

Just South of Quang Ngai before the storms started.

Day 67. 20 Nov. 261 km

Qui Nhon to Nha Trang. The day started with torrential rain and a puncture. Once fixed I left in a break between storms and made it half way dry, then torrential until I arrived.

I actually liked Nha Trang, full of Russians, mostly families. It was the cheapest place for restaurants etc on my trip due to the competition.

Day 68, 69. 21, 22 Nov

Sightseeing around Nha Trang and drinking too much. Another puncture so changed tyres and serviced the bike.
