Officials raided a pub in Chon Buri province early Sunday on suspicion that it hosted a drug party.

At least 150 of the more than 500 party-goers found at the Cliff Pool Club Pattaya tested positive after initial drug tests. Drugs were found scattered across the venue.

Party organiser Piyapong “DJ Ball” Poynork, and Jirapong Promkhram who identifies himself as the property guardian, are now facing several charges related to the alleged drug party.

Bang La Mung district chief Naris Niramaiwong, who led the raid, is preparing to ask the Chon Buri governor to order the closure of Cliff Pool Club Pattaya.

As of press time, authorities are also checking recordings from CCTV in nearby areas after finding that someone had stolen the keys of vehicles used by soldiers and administrative officials participating in the raid. Tyres were also flattened.

what really amazes me is when all the people are caught taking or selling drugs over the years in Pattaya there is no follow up investigation to find the source and the main supply route, like where did you get your supply - tell us or you face a long spell in jail, Thais will spill the beans very quickly, I have my own theory as to why this doesn't happen - maybe the police already know who the big suppliers are

And it's fighting windmills as in so many countries.

And don't forget that we are close to the biggest drug producers.

A steady flow from the Golden Triangle.

Even brute force like in Indonesia and Thaksin Thailand could not stop it.

This country is flooded with drugs.

It's true enough...

Depending on your party crowd, the meaning of "Pattaya has a drugs problem" is often understood to mean that there is a shortage of supply this week, or the 'nose candy' has been danced on to the point of obliteration by the black gang at the Grace Hotel... :whistling:

Is the worm beginning to turn?  Will we see police vehicles collecting bribe money being targeted?  How about brown-envelope collectors being mugged.  Bar Owners of Pattaya unite and rise up against the police/army oppressors.

Be it childporn, be it drugs, be it illegal firearms, it will always, anywhere, be the end users that get caught, never the suppliers nor the manufacturers.

Gives the police and the general public an undeserved good feeling and a misplaced idea of safety.

Well, not much of a party then.

On our early 90's parties in Amsterdam, it would be all of the 500 party goers ??

Rookie mistake to leave keys in unguarded vehicles. No plan, no idea of how to protect a scene or gather evidence. Just line up all the customers for urine test and hand over of brown envelopes.

The world is flooded with drugs. It's time to understand that the war is lost and that people who want to take drug will do it anyway.

Let people die the way they want ! If I had choice I would prefer dying by taking drug than in a motorbike accident !

Both links dead (now).

That was quick.

Why ? Was the place closed definitively ? Such a place can only belong to a very rich person, I do not believe that it will close so quickly.

So crazy, this website was hosted in Thailand !

How can someone be stupid enough to host any website in Thailand ? Rich or poor, they all are the same....
