By The Nation

The temperature on top of Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain and a popular tourist destination, fell to 10 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, signalling an early winter for the Northern province of Chiang Mai, a park official said.

Rung Hiranwong, chief of the Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai’s Chom Thong district, said it was the temperature plunged three degrees Saturday morning fron 13 to 10 degrees compared to Friday morning.

He said the temperature at the Kiew Mae Pan lookout of the park was 11 Celsius degree in the morning.

“This was the sign that the winter has arrived,” Rung added.
