I heard Colinneils wheelchair got clocked, on his way to lay a wager, at 90 in a 30 zone, but when the cop found out what a sure thing he was to win, forgot about the ticket and gave him a lift to the local underground bookie (The Chief of Police probably), and put his months pay down along with Colins pension. Yes, thank you, I was going to nominate evenstevens if for no other reason than I'd like to meet him in person when the tiara is passed to the winner.  I must, however, set the record straight.  geronimo's description of me, while flattering, makes it seem like I'm British.  While I admire Winstron Churchill and cucumber sandwiches, I'm not British. 

 

But yes, Mr. Bitey has put himself in the "line of fire" on a number of occasions for me.  Right now we're very concerned for him because he had a cancerous lump removed from his back in late August and it seems the cancer spread to his liver.  No more scotch whiskey, rich food and high living for Mr. Bitey.  He's home now enjoying a quiet life. 

I'm glad to see the mods have allowed the nomination of Dave2, who was a fixture on the Chiang Mai forum for many years.  He seemed to have a huge file of photos of everything in and around Chiang Mai.  If someone posted about "where is this" or "where do I find this restaurant", etc he could immediately post an appropriate photo.  Plus, he'd post photos that were just plain fun of images around the city.  If there was a traffic jam or car in the moat, he was there to take a photo.  Apparently, he spent his time walking around the city taking photos of everyday life and notable or not-so-notable events, visiting dignitaries, tourist tuk-tuk parades, graffiti, whatever caught his fancy.  It was a real shock to all of us on the Chiang Mai forum when he passed away suddenly earlier this year.

I did actually know him in real life and also conversed with him on here , although I didnt realise that both were the same person, it was only when someone posted his photo on here that I realised Dave2 was the person who I knew in real life

I believe that in the thread they are mentioned fairly early on.   Previous winners are not allowed to run, so they aren't in the poll.  I know that Nam, NancyL, Jingthing and Tutsiwarrior are all previous winners.

Well I'm not his campaign manager but I voted for Colinneil. Even given his unfortunate circumstances -- and with his gardening and shopping on his scooters -- he seems to be able to get through at least most days with a smile. That takes guts. Big time.
