PM claims success in arousing public awareness to reject corruption

The government has succeeded in arousing public awareness in rejecting and not tolerating corruption, said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in his nation-wide weekly address Friday night (Dec 8).

He pointed out at the Corruption Situation Index of the Thai Chamber of Commerce University in June this year which showed that 86 percent of the respondents were willing and wanted to be a part of the efforts to fight and prevent corruption.

This, said the prime minister, reflected the success of the government, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the National Anti-Corruption Commission as well as independent organizations in arousing public awareness to reject and not to tolerate corruption.

Hope the public is aroused enough to make sure Prawit is punished if proven he is corrupt / did not file the correct paperwork.

Lets see if they tolerate Prawit being found innocent by the NACC of any wrong doing, regarding his watch and jewellery :)

The government has succeeded in arousing public awareness in rejecting and not tolerating corruption.

They all deserve a Richard Mille watch!

“Thai people no longer tolerate corruption.  It is time for Thai people to rise up to protect their rights and those of the country by means of not tolerating corruption and are mindful of the duty to adhere to the law and understand the law, to be ethical and practice sufficiency.  They are ready to be good citizens to watch out for corrupt practice and to make Thailand being recognized worldwide.  We must help one another,” said the prime minister.”

“If wishes were fishes, we'd all cast nets.”

Frank Herbert,

Anti-corruption T-shirts! That is a typical Thai simplistic way to fix a problem which is an ingrained part of life here.

Can't help wondering how many envelopes changed hands before the contract to produce the "Zero Tolerance shirts" was finalised.

Just for the record Thailand is #101 out of 176 countries on the Corruption Perception index for 2016.

Frank Herbert,

They tried that with Suchinda at the end of 91'.......I think they are wary of doing it again.

Wait till they introduce the key rings and the coffee mugs........they're really nice!

So the next time a corrupt cop or government official tries to racket me tea money, who on the photo can I phone please ???

As despicable and all as it is, nothing would get done here if people didn't grease the wheels.

Constitution amended to prevent any further mention of chickens..

Name changed to Rhode Island Yellows...

PM claims success in arousing public awareness, that most of the people in power are corrupt.

To my knowledge the only person the junta leader has managed to arouse is steven100. Now there he has done a stellar job!

How many yaba pills, meth etc. Was allowed in on his watch?

I suppose he can claim whatever he likes if the price of contradicting him is to threatened with shooting or having a banana thrown at you or just plain abused.

This guy is seriously unwell. I think he's probably delusional and I don't care who he says he loves.

A familiar refrain, an apology for the criminals.

If the wheels were not greased, they would stop. But only until people got hungry. If some of the major criminals were banged up or shot, then then a less obnoxious and less costly grease would be found quick sharp.

You might be right.

Sadly.

This guy needs to get out more often,,,,,,,,, corruption is rife

Start with your Police Force Sir,,,,,,, Oh sorry forgot you must have given them immunity

"The government has succeeded in arousing public awareness in rejecting, and not tolerating, corruption."

The Public were *always* aware of the levels of corruption in Thailand: some of The Little People used it to their advantage, other people could only "work within the existing system".

 - The task for this Government, and for future governments, is to *reduce* (drastically) the levels of corruption in the country, and even though there have indeed been several headline-stories in the media regarding anti-corruption battles, I don't consider that the current Government has made any significant progress on this.

Frankly the public is more arouse of military corruption than before. They want the spotlight and got more than bargain for.

This guy's whole game plan was convince the stupid people that they were really operating on a genuine reform. The truth is there operating on a bluff. As we see the police reform was fake along with all the boards cabinets and rivers of sinking generals. Please step aside it's a embarrassment.

And in other news today: One of Thailand's biggest poachers finds Jesus and becomes a fervent gamekeeper...

Or so he says.
