A recent inspection of massage parlours by authorities found almost all of them breached the laws, said deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Srivara Ransibhramanakul.

They defied the Building Control Act B.E.2522 as they have more service rooms than they were permitted, while water testing found at least five of them pumped groundwater for use without permission, he said.

The massive inspection of 82 massage parlours in Bangkok followed the Jan 12 raid at Victoria Secret in Wang Thonglang area which found the operators violated several laws.

Not if you want Islamic kingdom Thailand.

does the deputy police chief really! REALLY? believe that foreigners go to the parlors just for a massage? for that matter does he think the thai's go there for the same reason? I think not!

And there was I thinking that the services on offer were being investigated.

No, they're using the wrong kind of water!

It is so clear that everybody knows that as long as the place received monthly payment, any illegal business would be safe and business as usual.

all that good underground 'gutter oil' - great for lubing up, for free

"Deputy police chief: Almost all massage parlours in capital breach the law"

I thought this was a miss typed news heading and should have read " Almost all politicians and police in capital breach the law"

The bi-anual teamoney price increase.

Room dividers and water usage? A couple of new hooks to try. Seems the BiB are running out of reasons to cadge cash injections. People keeping their accounts paid up, but thats never enough.

But ALL massage parlours in one fell swoop, sounds like topping up the retirement accounts of some top dogs, since teamony always flows up hill.

This is a knee jerk reaction to the latest western tabloids running an article about massage parlors causing Bangkok to sink with excess water usage.........bring the country into disrepute.....

Probably not, as he did not say, nor imply, that he thought that!

They have to proved to be in breach of the relevant law first, that's why they're being investigated first!  Simple!
