By The Nation

An actress was killed when her BMW car crashed into a tree on a roadside in Ayutthaya province on Saturday morning.

Natnicha Cherdchubupphakaree, 21, died when her car plunged into the roadside on highway No 9 on the Saraburi-bound side in Tambon Chiang Rak Noi, Bang Pa-in district.

Police suspect the car was speeding and lost control as the road was slippery following a rains.

Natnicha was better known as “In” after her role as a child in a TV series from 2002 to 2006 on Channel 7. She later became a singer and released three albums but faded away. In recent times, she was seen playing a supporting role in a movie, Kankrai, Khai, Pha Mai (Scissors, Eggs, Silk).

It would seem to be a cultural thing:   Here, cars are speeding or cars lose control and crash.   Back in my home country, drivers are speeding or drivers lose control and crash.

  • Police suspect the car was speeding.   maybe the car was depressed and committed suicide.   RIP young Thai woman.

Some cars are just bad.

A car accident with no witness can be the result of many problems,

not least, driving while tired, under the influence of some substances,

busy with electronic device, not paying attention to proper driving

manners and so on, pity that the life's end of such a young lady

could be the result of any of the above....

A well known Thai celebrity famous since she was a child actress has died in a road accident.

Natnicha Chertbuphakaree, 20, was found dead in her white BMW this morning. She had crashed into a tree on Kanchanapisek Road heading towards Bang Pa-In in Ayuthaya.

Rescue teams were at the scene of the wreckage at around 8am this morning. Conditions were rainy and no other cars were involved.

Natnicha or Nong In rocketed to fame alongside some of Thailand's most well known celebrities such as Chompoo Araya when she appeared as a child on the Channel 7 TV series "Kaew Ta Wan Jai" in 2003.

Since then she has had many TV and movie roles, done advertisements and appeared as a presenter and model.

That looks like a "jaws of life" in the lower photo.

What will further updates reveal?

Maybe a search in Thai script would be more successful....the "transliterations" can be spelt every which way...none being "correct"

When young I drove buses, trains, taxis, limos and ferry boats.  Do not miss driving at all.

So sad that this young woman's life was cut so short.

Aqua planeing is common on flooded roads  Car is like a boat no control no brakes no steering ..Answer slow and easy .

The pale white plastic bimbo in a swimsuit on the right photo, is she the same as the sweet young kid on the left?

That is the actress, not the watch lending billionaire.

That's right. That's the title of this thread.

Wow! That beamer is really bent. I guess the side-impact airbags didn't do much good... I remember her well as the young "Lilly" in "Werewolf in Bangkok" 2005, one of the few Thai movies I've actually liked. Sad loss of a young life.

Apparently she's not all that famous.  If you Google "Natnicha Cherdchubupphakaree" , the only thing it comes up with is her being killed in a car accident.  No movie credits, no photos, nothing.

Kind of tells you the respective mentalities involved.

This happens so often that I am desensitized to it all and dont care.
Like may people here, I speak about the lack of Policing, education and so on...

And just now, I realize why Thai people dont give a hoot anymore, as I am just the same now

No, she was well-known and pretty famous in her time. My wife knew her by her nickname "In" immediately. But, she's mostly been out of the big spotlight in more recent years. Perhaps Thailand has its faded child TV stars go astray syndrome same as the U.S. and elsewhere.

Another vote for always having a  dashcam.

Another vote for reducing speed in the rain !

Excess speed, polished road surface, tyres inflated like rocks, lack of training and experience. Any combination of these makes a collision a likelihood. And trees don’t give, one of the worst things to hit.
