On the control part of it.  Believe it or not a share of these girls are similar to bargirls with the amount of guys they meet and customer base they build up.  For me, there would have to be a cooling off period where she did not go out and "meet friends" unless I came with.  Otherwise I would have a major trust issue.  Maybe my issue but have heard enough stories.

One guy had her move in and she was "meeting friends" several evenings a week.  Turns out she was connected with the high end escort sites meeting customers. You just never know here.

There are very few I would trust. My baptism of fire in Thailand taught me that. Phd girl who turned out to be full of sh*t and cheating.

Interesting... What is more interesting and I have thought about this several time is Thai girls from my experience as opposed to me old man, do not get up to pee in the middle of the night.  Seriously, I have never met one that does they sleep through.

The NEVER TALK thing is so so so so accurate even when the girl speak English very well . For anyone who has had close and meaningful relationships before they moved here this lack of real communication here with your so called girlfriend is a complete deal breaker and kept me on my own and that became a real plus in making me more independent . So many of my friends here become so dependent on their so called girlfriend but really it seems like just a paid for play deal and if the mans money is gone so is the so called love for the guy . I must really sound jaded but it so seems like a business deal more than a love thing but I may not be seeing the whole picture ?

I made 5 trips before coming to live here, met over 100 women, got very lucky with the first one. I thought I knew what was achievable. Now 6 months after moving here I see I was deluded and influenced by the Thailand sexual paradise myth.  I don't want to be a player, one good slim attractive woman in her 30's even 40's is enough. But that isn't happening and probably never will. 

Seems that a woman's physical appearance is the biggest factor in determining her characteristics & behaviour. You can find a plain chubby girl in a day and she might even love you.  But aim higher and that's when you start meeting the real b****es. So a compromise is inevitable, but either way it looks unpalatable…

Here's what I call a Turing test for communication with your gf. Take any reasonably well-written English passage of about 5 lines. Say, Andrew's comment quoted above.

 

Now, explain it to your Tgf. Use pidgin English, pidgin Thai, pidgin pantomime, .. Go ahead, give it a shot. You'll know if you succeeded if you get a reasonable response at the end of it. Like "Man woman same evelywhere. I not understand you, cannot love to you. Same you to me." In which case congratulations and you might have a winner.

 

But if at the end of 15mins, sweat dripping from your brow, all you get is "Him stupid, not have money, want lady take care" then I am afraid I have bad news for you.
