Where are these reviews of as yet unopened restaurants?  I am assuming you are referring to their Bkk locations.  I too would like to see a list of what all is going to be in T21 Pattaya, along with their Bkk reviews.

So would I. The only reason to go there would be some specialty restaurant not previously in Pattaya. So far haven't spotted anything interesting, just same old. A dim sum place would be something like that, since the Canton House (IIRC) closed in Central.

There is a much better than Canton House (not overly priced for the quality but not super cheap low quality like Canton House) dim sum place on Soi 3, North Pattaya, fairly close to beach road, inside the A-1 Hotel in a place called Food Street.

For my tastes the most exciting restaurants to anticipate at T21 are So Asean (as they feature impossible to find in Pattaya foods from all the Asean nations) and one or two of the "foodie swoon" Italian places from Bangkok.

To mention the obvious, some people might find the location of T21 more convenient than Central. Of course, all the major restaurant franchises will be represented. You never know, there might be a dim sum place in T21 to give you a reason to visit, otherwise, you can stay away. If T21 makes your life in Pattaya miserable, then you'll have to find a new place to live.

Is saying that you have lived in London supposed to mean something and impress people?

There are actually not that many options for reasonably priced quality goods in Pattaya.  There is the same knock off shit you can buy all over, then there is the way overpriced name brand stores in the malls, then there are the department stores.

There aren't may good alternatives to Central department store.  So it was a welcome addition to Pattaya.  Wish T21 was offering something new like that.  But sadly, it sounds like it's just going to offer more of the same overpriced name brand stores that Pattaya already has.

Many of us have lived in big cities, where opening of another mall means nothing.

In small town like Pattaya it is a big deal, it brings another option to spend an afternoon in Western style enviroment, gives another good reason to leave the house. In a small town we don't have that many choices, so it is somewhat big deal.

No McDonalds.  Thank heaven for small mercies.

I wish Taco Bell opens there, what we need is some quality Mexican food.

Then we just have to agree to disagred and you must agree.

Taco Bell has Nacho Cheese Supreme, so gooc, but you have to make sure it's Supreme, because only Supreme  has sour cream! And you have to add spicy sauce from the little plastic packets, I recommend two packets per meal.

I heard that Taco House from the dark side which people seem to like will be opening a Central Pattaya location, and I'm sure they have fancy nachos, so put that on your list.

??

Big C and Tesco are probably the in between places with average quality stuff/prices and name brands.

Then you say the knock offs.  Pattaya Night Bazaar or Mike's probably have the largest quantity/selection.

Then the name brands.

Ever go to the Outlet store in Jomtien?

So, what alternatives are you looking for? Original Gucci bags for $50?

I have bought some of those knockoff shirts over the years and still have them 4 or 5 years later.

So no, there is not a Target or Walmart here sorry...

I bet it would not even come close to Taco Bell standards of quality, but I will check it out, thank you!

Taco Bell is coming to BKK soon.

Maybe they will get a spot in the future at T21 who knows.

I'd take those two over a mall any day. Especially if Walmart had a hardware section.

So far the best addition by far to the Pattaya mall scene has been the Harbor Mall and that's because of the Mr. DIY there. Just about the only place I've found lithium grease spray here (besides Lazada, with I hope willeventually do the same to the malls as Amazon did in the west).

Where you have been in the past is irrelevant. We don't live in the past, we live by the day, and if you happen to live in Pattaya all year round this is very exciting. Of course, if you're a sexpat, then nothing would be further from your mind.
Excactly , I think he must be a sexpat , if he is not interested in what big cities has to offer.

T21 is a meeting point , I would think of it as a community mall, where you can meet friends for a cup of coffee, go watch a movie , have a nice lunch , walk around inside a big mall with air-con.

Not all of us are here for the bars, cheap girls and booze.

Why don't you explain yourself then?

Your quote: "There are actually not that many options for reasonably priced quality goods in Pattaya."

Have you ever been here actually?

I explained to you in pretty much detail to answer this.  No comprehension problems except on your part it appears.

Why don't you tell us what you are looking for?  Then, those of us that are here can then help you...

Please do me a favor and block my posts.  Some other idiot already sent me a message announcing that he blocked me....like I am supposed to GAFF!  I would appreciate if you did me the same favor because I am bored with your nonsense.

People think these malls are opened only for foreigners (expats and tourists), but it's the Thai population that keeps them afloat. It's a guarantee that a lot of the money the sexpats contribute to the economy for services rendered ends up being spent in T21. Good luck finding a girl that doesn't like big flashy shopping malls and genuine merchandise. If she says she isn't, she's lying.

Bkk6060, there's a lot of high-end quality stuff available in the Central Department Store that you won't find anywhere else in Pattaya. If you don't shop there, you'll never know. Unfortunately, there won't be a department store in T21 as it doesn't fit their concept.

That is definitely true in Bkk but I am not so sure in Pattaya.  I would say it's maybe 50/50 tourists and Thais at Central.  Harbor is almost all Thais but not very many of anyone at that mall.

Central mall appears to be doing really really well.  I remember reading some story a couple years ago that said that was the Central groups busiest mall, even compared to Bkk. It is probably a lot busier now than it was a couple years ago.  T21 will take some of that traffic away but Central still has that decent department and grocery store with things you can't find anywhere else.  I don't shop at the department store very often but the grocery store has competitive prices on a lot of things.

T21 today , Foodland sign is up , so the good news is they will stay open 24 hours and hopefully that also includes the restaurant.

I've never been to a temple in Thailand either. Wouldn't mind visiting Sanctuary of Truth one day but I have 30 or 40 years for that so no rush.

There is already a 24 hour Foodland in Pattaya.  Not sure but maybe even both are 24 hours.  So that is nothing to get excited about.  The fact it's just another Foodland instead of the unique whole foods type grocery store like they have in Bkk is one of the major disappointments about this mall.
