Popular Post snoop1130 Posted October 29, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2018 Mystery of the Swedish man's empty bank account - it was a Thai family inside job after all! The drama of why a Swedish man and his Thai wife's Thai bank account was emptied has now been explained. Nonthaphat, 47, and her Swedish husband came back to Thailand from Sweden in September calling for justice. They claimed that someone at the bank had spent all their money using e-banking. The account had had 480,000 baht but now there was only 680 baht left. Now it has been discovered that the money was in fact all spent in an online shopping spree from the 16th August to the 17th of September by Nonthaphat's eldest daughter . Nonthaphat apologized to the bank who in turn have said they will not counter sue and will let the matter rest. The Chaiyaphum police told Sanook that they will not be taking the matter further as the mother did not wish to press charges against her daughter. The case is now closed. The bank was not named in the Sanook report. Source: https://www.sanook.com/news/7555578/ -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-10-29 3 1 9
Popular Post darksidedog Posted October 29, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2018 Oooops! So there you have it folks. Even knowing a song and dance, and howl for justice was being made over the matter, the daughter kept quiet, hoping stupidly, that she wouldn't be caught. I bet the bank is breathing a big sigh of relief though. 29 3 1

Banks have been in the news recently for exactly what the couple had suggested here, so it seems fair enough and was made slightly tongue in cheek. The good thing about the matter is that it has been satisfactorily explained. I am sure the bank had some concerns when they started the investigation, because staff fraud does happen. And lets be honest, they must be happy that they were found to be in the clear. A lot happier than the Swedish fella is right now, I am sure, and his wife. 16 2

Popular Post observer90210 Posted October 29, 2018 Popular Post Posted October 29, 2018 First a big relief to all that this was not another case of a dishonest bank employee robbing a foreign customer's account,. Second, a big lesson the to poor Swede in trusting the family of his Thai wife...sorry but the facts speak for themselves. Third, is is very very disrespectful from the Thai wife who should feel herself lucky to have a generous foreign provider, to try to minimalise the theft from her daughter, as that's the impression one get's on reading. 3 1

Yep-definitely. Tho' they all have PhD's in denial, projection and deflection. If I was the Swedish chap I would give them the flick-plenty more in the rather stagnant pond. 1 3

Just another example of Thai family members stealing from each other. Nothing very unusual, and nothing that many people on here haven't come across (and commented on) a hundred times. Also nothing unusual about the thief not being prosecuted. The Thai solution is commonly to sweep everything under the carpet and this is just one more example of that. 3
