12 of 200 stray dogs rounded up at Banglamung Hospital

PATTAYA:--Pattaya’s dog catchers rounded up 12 stray canines behind Banglamung Hospital, making only a small dent in a problem that’s been going on since March.

 

Pattaya veterinarian Dr. Surapong Wongsuttawad and support staff visited the vacant lot behind the hospital Oct. 22 following renewed complaints about stray dogs chasing motorbikes and people.

 

More than 200 stray dogs have taken over the feces-covered Naklua Soi 13 parcel that Banglamung Hospital uses as a parking lot.

 

For seven months, hospital customers and neighbors have complained, saying that, with Chonburi declared a “red zone” for rabies infection, the dogs need to be cleared out.

 

Dog catchers captured only 12 and said they would be sterilized at the Sattahip District shelter.

So what's happened to these dogs after sterilising them.thrown back on the streets? Stuck in cages in a re-homing unit? They have no life,no real future of a good life.thais are not likely to adopt them as they will be older and not so pretty and not of good health.theres only one solution and it's the old chopping block I'm afraid to say.daily news is they cause many road accidents,attack people and children,spread disease and shit everywhere.there is absolutely no control of these animals and as usual the Thais don't give a toss because it's not there problem...now I just wait for the goody goody dog lovers to come out with 'but it's mans best friend bs'

Ridiculous !!!    capture any/all dogs out on the street without its owner,hold for a month, if their (not) owners come to claim them..then fine the owners for letting the dog roam and make them pay for mandatory ID chip,vaccinations and neutering before being released.

If after a month not claimed then humanely dispatch to the next ( better ? ) life.

 

If you stop people (do gooders) from feeding the strays they will move on. The dogs are there because they are being fed.

 

Pick up any food left out. Fine anyone leaving food.

 

If the do gooders feel sorry for the dogs adopt them, take them home and give them a home.

Thai's don't want to kill animals , not even the wounded ones.

In Vietnam they would not be around for a long time.

Also there are regular organised cock fights all over the country and I believe still some organised dog fighting  the loser of the fight if not killed fighting is often killed by the "owner" (and eaten ?)

 

Rats are poisoned  except if they are field rats in which case they are  killed and eaten !

even cockroaches are not spared from the menu ????

not to mention the  millions of mosquitoes and flies squatted daily.

Should only take these hard working dog catchers about another month to rid the area of the pests, at a rate of 12 a day allowing for the fact that some will have litters of puppies..

May be not specifically "cockroaches" but bugs and insects are readily available, usually deep-fried.

"Meng da" is a supposed tree living cockroach that is used in many dishes.

Once saw a guy with 1 eye popping out and bleeding profusely , it was a Friday , he was screamed at to come back on Monday because eye doctor not come work.

 

they could have sent him to Chonburi or offer some basic assistance, instead just abused the crap out of him .

Or extrapolating that and based on the fact a dog might defecate twice a day there are now only 376 dog turds a day in the hospital car park instead of 400. Amazing!

I think they should be sterilised BEFORE they become dogcatchers - that way they are not tempted to join a Swinging Dog-Shagging circle.

You could say that about a lot of people "they cause many road accidents,attack people and children,spread disease and shit everywhere.there is absolutely no control of these animals". So why don't we send them to the chopping block while we're at it.
