Having told my Uncle I am living in Thailand, he asked if I have learned to speak Chinese yet. Most Americans can not even tell where Thailand is located on a map, let alone any history.

are you sure that Uncle hasn't been there, or also on TV? and have seen all them Chinese lemmings there inundating LOS himself?

Maybe its because Thais dont get the same indoctrination as Westerners.

Maybe because opposite to the French and the English, the Germans never tried to colonalize and enslave Asian People ?

I think they need more Jewish led Media and Universitys to make them know the unbiased Version of History.

They get plenty of indoctrination already. Just not about general knowledge or the outside world.

Who to blame here?  What if the kids can't find Germany on a map, and never heard of Hitler?  Not really an excuse, but then do we blame the schools for not teaching the world's tragedies?  Of course, easy to blame the producers.  Fire them for sure.  Any adult that knew about this can be blamed.  Then it's about how the kids reacted.  If everyone thought these kids are clueless, then it's time for a lesson.  If everyone was super mad and offended, then harsher penalties.   How can this happen in 2019?  Well, nothing surprises me anyone.  Most kids don't know apple is a fruit, only a computer.

Never been to a Thai classroom eh?  Everyone I've been to has a chart hanging on the wall with important historical persons and HItler and Stalin are always there as are globes both round and hanging on the wall.  If not taught why hanging on the wall?  Every one of my Thai friends know who they are and watch the history channel on TV.  Kids all know appun is a fruit.

And Thailand fought on the side of the Axis. They probably don't know that the war's over and Hitler's dead.

They're probably taught in school that Thailand won WW2.

No.  They are taught that Japan and Germany lost WWII and about Thai: เสรีไทย; RTGS: Seri Thai) was a Thai underground resistance movement against Imperial Japan during the war. They skip the part about the Thai war criminals.

i know that they get plenty of Indoctrination, as did you and  you still get. thats why i said not the same as the Western World.

Who decides what is General knowledge anyways ?

Controlled Western Education(indoctrination) Institutes ? or Controlled Mainstream Media Outlets ?

Her manager most probably asked her to wear it to get some new attention on the group and it's working. This will always work.. In fact I bet this will be the first time many people internationally have even heard of the group. Don't be so quick to condescend, "oh they're just dumb, they don't know what it means!" It's a clever marketing ploy.

You are the one unaware, they are plastered all over the place in advertising, even on the side of buses, they draw huge crowds at concerts. Even the PM used them for PR. The 48 franchise is enormous in Asia, just about every country has it's own group.

Interesting article here:

Nazi Chic: The Asian Fashion Craze That Just Won't Die
www.vice.com

Too many points raised to go into them all but one did strike me as particularly worth mentioning, me being a UK guy:

"[But] Nazi chic as a phenomenon in fashion and in popular culture started with the punk rock movement in Great Britain."

John 8:7 and Matthew 7:5, kjv, spring to mind.

Nazi symbolism aside, I've always found it rather amusing that the Union Jack fashion icon is ubiquitous, Rule Brittana and all that.

My wife has a small swastika tattooed on her shoulder. It looks like a swastika, it is a swastika.

She has no idea what the word "swastika" means. She's never heard of Hitler or Nazis. To her it's a Buddhist good luck symbol.

Until five years ago we had a phone box outside our house with a swastika on it.

Somehow in an Issan village I doubt it was the work of Neo-Nazi sympathisers:

Why was that "ignorant"

The giraffe escaped and caused lots of damage to property and so they named him "Bin Laden" (who also caused a lot of damage to property)

What is ignorant about that ?

Although I doubt it's neck was long enough to bring down any planes.
