Not hard to understand at all. They voted for Trump because they thought he would be on their side, while the "swamp critters" in Washington have abandoned them to unemployment and poverty ( ask a coal miner why they voted for Trump ). The Washington politicians are still not on their side, and Trump is their last hope still.

Had there been a better candidate they would have voted for them, it's just that Trump was the only one that claimed to be for America and the common man, and the rest were all "swamp critters" anyway.

IMO, every time the Dems attack Trump, they are more determined to support Trump because the Dems stopped being for the workers long ago.

On the plus side, he did a passable impression of Jeff Sessions.

 

He appears to be coming very close to having an epic Captain Queeg-like meltdown at one of these rallies. (There may not be enough Adderal on AF1 to get him through the next few months?)
