Had a dribble coming out of the shower for a while now is this due to water pressure or a problem with the unit, sink tap has plenty of pressure, don't have water tank or pump just from water meter, anyone else having this problem? took it apart but can't see anything visible, is there a small pump within the shower unit? DIY not my strong point plus I hate touching anything electrical here.

No pump in the shower unit. Could be there is dirt inside the shower unit, does it have a filter you can clean?

We had this after moving the water pump in the garden. All taps were showing a dribble . Took off all the pipes between on/off switch/stop cock and taps , problem cured as all pipes have a filter in .

Did it have pressure previously?

If so, odds are something is blocking it up. Could be anything from the pipe coming to the hose, hose to the unit, hose leaving the unit, or the unit itself.

I'd cut off the water supply and try blowing everything clear.

Be very careful if you are considering inspecting the insides of your shower unit, and would probably pay to get a qualified person to look at it – – an electric shock when there is water present could very well prove fatal.

There are a couple of places where the water could become "restricted" and sometimes there is a very small filter just inside the shower head which can become clogged with sediment and also just at the outlet from the wall unit (if that's what it is) so these are the first things to check.

Also check the water inlet pipe/fitting on the shower.

Would be helpful to know shower model - but most will have a flow adjustment/filter on input side that can become turned slower or filter become blocked.  Normally have to remove a small screw to get filter out to clean.

If the water pressure around the house is ok, this is the most likely cause of the problem. Remove the inlet pipe. There's often a small filter inside the coupling.

Disconnect the water supply at the heater and chances are you will find a screen there on the heater side that could be plugged up. Have had to clean them many times.

Spookily, just before coming across this thread I have just removed my shower head, not because it was blocked per se, but as a regular routine I remove the shower heads and immerse them in Brown Malt vinegar, Thai White vinegar is no good for this, I leave them for about an hour, this breaks down any Limescale build up and helps to keep the water flowing through the unfured heads. ????

Yes thinking now I cleaned the shower head and it was badly furred up, must have been lots inside the head, sorted now, thanks for all the replies.

Just a tip: get a large plastic bag, half fill it with vinegar, let the shower head soak in it over night. Works a treat and no need to buy another head. ????

Fair comment, I have used White vinegar before and was not as impressed with the results, each to his/her own though. ????

Weeell, it can even whiten your teeth.....????

Find something that you are having trouble cleaning, (not your underpants), limescale for instance, cooker hood, gas hob etc...Mix baking soda with vinegar to a paste and put it on the area, leave for a while and work with a scourer and see what happens....
