PHUKET: A luxury mansion being built in the hills above the Bang Wad reservoir in Kathu will be ordered to be removed for violating the ban on all construction more than 80 metres above sea level, The Phuket News has confirmed

 

Kathu Municipality officials also confirmed to The Phuket News that the luxury mansion is being built illegally as their office have not issued a building permit for the project.

 

Kathu Municipality officials began their investigation into the construction of the house after it was brought to their attention by local residents on Wednesday (Apr 24).

If you read the story, they did not have permission to build so no officials were involved, except those who discovered the site and have declared the construction as illegal. No brown envelopes involved this time. Sorry to disappoint.

My error- I checked my garmin and the house is recorded at 138m. There are other houses higher up the hill that have been there for years.

The neighbours must not be very observant - it appears construction has being ongoing for several months and has just now been 'found'.
