I didn't see any footage of anybody pointing a finger at anything. How can we believe this story if nobody points out the crime?

I think I would wake up if someone was pulling my ring????

lots of possibilities here.  If he did actually lose those items it could have been another passenger that found/took them.  Or perhaps an insurance scam.

Tourist from China, Real Patek Philippe Watch, Expensive Diamond Rings..sounds a bit suspect, in addition to the circumstances on how he got in the taxi...could he be looking for a we need to protect tourism hand out from the Thai Government?

If he can have 2M watch

He should call  VIP TAXI ....

It is just a little more money and a lot safer

He overpaid for the watch, you can get them on Soi Arab for $15

Yes ,  could be an insurance scam

That is made Chinese famous for

I don't understand the desire to flaunt wealth. In a country that people will kill for a fraction of what he lost, it is plain stupidity. Years ago I was talking to a wealthy couple who, on returning to their London home one night, were mugged. The first move was to slash her arm. They were then stripped of their Rolex and jewellery. At first I thought how awful but then that changed to why make yourself a target?

I've seen Security escort drunks from Nana Plaza and put them into a taxi. I always wonder what happens to them.

Curious as to what bars are allowed to stay open until 5 am. But that might be a standard way of Chinese doing business. Wear down the other person.

good luck in catching this one.serious money with what he wore.lets say i would not be wearing and carry all that cash.take what you need on the night and leave the rest behind.that is about  60k in sterling must be some watch.the ring must have being huge too.

The scourge of Thailand.

LOL do you mean the Thai cabbie or the dumb drunken passed out Chinese rich guy? ????????????

Fools and their money are soon parted.... goes for possessions too !

Do they need to report themselves every time they drop off their passengers?

They say he is rubber exporter, never mentioned what he actually make, latex or raw export?

Latex seems to be lucrative business.

If someone has that much valuables then he can rent a limo at the time he started to drink.

Seems Chang effects

I am wondering if he can efforts Bt2.3 million Patek Philippe watch, why he can’t effort hire a car and personal driver for a night out.

This is clearly a misunderstanding... Taxi drivers only return left behind valuables. Stealing... absolute madness!

No, this has to fake news......????

A fake insurance claim by an upstanding Chinese citizen, surely not?

the taxis that hag out at rca are generally low like scamming scum disliked by locals as well as expats. i usually walk away a minute or two and get a decent taxi. decent taxis wont tsop for a fare at rca because they are afraid of being assaulted by the mafia taxis.

However, he fell asleep in the cab and found himself on the roadside

So he was as drunk as a skunk then. Most of us would feel being dragged from a taxi and dumped on the roadside.

Boys and girls, mark my words this is fake news simply an insurance scam. To be exposed by Thailand’s finest BiB shirts,

Go out on the booze with > $120,000 of valuables on you.....just to us people in the real world it seems crazy, in fact verging on the unbelievable.

Could this be an insurance scam by chance ?? It wouldn’t be the first and surely won’t be the last.

this guy was so dumb he almost deserves to lose it all..

I find that when I label someone as dumb, it is a reflection of my own ego. I've done some pretty "dumb" things in my life, one of which is believing I am more intelligent than those who suffer a misadventure.

If he was wearing a watch the same Price as a new condo then you can bet his loss was just pocket money

Big problem! He borrowed it from a friend and has to return it after the loan period or buy him a new one.

It doesn't matter how dumb a person is. To take advantage of this is wrong.
