While the club, sitting bottom of the Championship, was not technically up for sale, he said he would be open to offers.''''

Here's the big chance. Get the fans organised and buy the club. Man Utd was up for sale a while back and if 20k fans had put their hands in their pockets for 600 squids each; the club would have been theirs.

This is maybe, a once in a lifetime chance to own yer club. Get in there Owl fans.

I think he's a bit of a narcissist and gaslighter Owl. I reckon he did it with Darren Moore. Wanted shut of him and then manufactured or at least embellished a disagreement to get shut. Now he's doing the same with the fans, oh i'm not going to spend any more money because you're protesting against me when the real reason is has hasn't got a pot to Pxxx in. All in my humble opinion of course.

He can't sell the club now, he wants his money back and the club isn't worth anywhere near what he's ploughed into it.

His family is exceptionally wealthy; their fortune made from canned fish. Amongst others, they own the John West brand.

FFP rules mean he can't just splash the cash; he has to make decisions based on "expert" advice, which seems to be more bad than good.

Liking those recent long posts, with plenty of great photos, Owl.

Those ridgeback pups are growing fast and have become part of the Owl family.

Can anyone give me a link to the breeders and their youtube videos. I know they're on here somewhere but searching this thread is a pain. Ta.

Turned it on. Was shivering with anticipation. Leyton Orient had a home game. Just had to get the result. We were winning at the time of the sad incident against Lincoln.

Bloomin' heck Owl you still didn't get it right. It was never England v USA. Originally, it was GB v USA.

????

Being a team event, I think it is far more exciting than any of the various "Opens" etc. - The Ryder Cup almost always gives a "nail biter" finish.

Also, refreshing to see  no cheating, and genuine sportsmanship, in the game of golf - unlike some other sports.

Thanks for that CL.

I agree about cheating in the Ryder Cup. I can recall a huge bit of sportsmanship in a match; Nicklaus v Jacklin. If I'm not too wrong the Americans were not too pleased with Jack picking up Tony's marker at the last.

I'm not a golfer or a golf fan, but I do like a bit of sport nostalgia. I'll look that one up. It was certainly in the last century. Maybe I just drempt it up!

One of the 'pups' has his 12 month birthday later this month. Thinking of a pressie. Mrs Owl says 'food'. But I'm thinking; why not fill up a big bag of rubbish and invite him to rip it apart and scatter everything all along the soi. Then give him a treat rather than scold him.

At seven this morning.

Take it from me, he's skint. The family just let him go off and do his thing. Why would you think TUF or John West isn't splashed all over the club? They're a rich family, but not exceptionally so, not in todays terms and it isn't his money. Seem to think around £700M being quoted.

He sold the ground to his wife and took a loan out against it (don't ask), the ticket prices are eye wateringly high. In respect of P&S (Not FFP) we're in a good place but we've just recruited a load of cheap continental freebies. He's skint, take it from me.

So how much to take the club into fan ownership?

He bought the club for around £30/35M if I remember correctly Owl. Bought it from Milan Manderic, remember him? Unfortunately he threw a lot of money at it as well with a boom or bust attitude to get us to the Prem. Lge. Nearly worked but we got beat in the final at Wembley by Dull City. When would that be, 2015 I think, I attended.

I reckon he's put close on £180M in and he wants his money back, so I reckon he might accept £150M. With according to him ongoing losses of £10m a season. The bloke is deluded, he thinks he can get us back into the prem. without any spending, he can't and he won't.

So if we can find 20,000 of us to put £7,500 each in initially and the another £500 a year in that would do it wouldn't it.

At least we got rid of the manager last night and his staff, looking for a new manager now and there's talk in the press that Colin wants the job.

Now I don't know if you know this but Colin is a nick name us Wednesdayites have for Neil Warnock (who is a big unitedite and an ex manager of theirs), it's an anagram. Can you work out his surname if his Christian name is Colin?????Now that is a good quiz question.

No he isn't, he could be going to Rangers Owl. On the main Owls forum we have a RevOwl who is a man of the cloth and he was advocating SP was in line for the job and he was willing to take £10 bets from all and sundry. I found this strange coming from him and accused him of being drunk on altar wine. Little did I know, apparently there is a Rev Owl on the site who has nothing to do with the church and it was him that was spouting off. Having said that, could be true I don't know.

The manager markets are best left alone Owl, they're a license to print money for the bookies, I've seen it many times before. The manipulate the market by installing favourites on little or no evidence at all, people jump in as they feel somethings going down and then the bloke drifts away, insider trading i'd call it.

Parker 16/1 for Owls job and 20/1 for Rangers job. Lampard is favourite for the Rangers job at evens. We have Colin (Anagram????) favourite for Owls job at 9/4. There'll be blood spilt should Colin get the job.

Owl Log - 08-10-2023 - Sunday afternoon

It was Wednesday 4th of October. And that meant;;;; the 'number 4 market'. The market itself is about 2/3 km out of Ban Dung, on the 2096, going south to Nong Mek.

This big market has moved about. It was in the centre of Ban Dung for years. Then moved to the east of the town. It was not that popular there. Moved after a few months to where it is now. What we were really after was some pink catfish for Mildred's pond. Not lucky enough to see the pinkies, but they did have some koi carp. We bought all they had for 120 baht. Eight in all. Then we had a wander around this fine, once a month, shopping area.

Bought a couple of baskets to replace the ones ripped up by dogs.

1232159634_rippedbins.png.412464c23069d1a495faa79f2e24b46e.png

1220880006_market111111.png.54828ac8a217dfd8b82970304c996e86.png

And there are clothes to buy. There is always something nice to buy.

1917711978_market111.png.a19ddc9a396f8605a6e54774d916c624.png

Shall we go this way Milly?

Can get yer body sorted too.

1767318842_market1.png.2c445d7ef6e6b91489f6e05f51c92035.png

Then it was my turn to splash out. Mildred found a nice pair of size 44s for me. Not a bad price; 39 baht.

517660005_market11.png.b486898390ed57b905c5904dbb80854d.png

Finished at the market. We made our way into town. Paid the leccy and kept on that road. Came across a new place. All in about 9/10 rai. As I passed I saw some little windmills in action. Just had to investigate.

I'll get some better pics next time. This place looks interesting.

And in the corner?!

Took a chance and poked the camera through the wires to get a nice shot. Was rewarded with a cracking pic.

More Reishi. I think it's been the wettest wet season for eight years. Some mushrooms are taking advantage.

Pineapple doing great. It has already given two fruits. Will we get another?

Poom showing me his puppies.

Then into town, to get some fish pellet, cat food and a big tin of my pineapple biscuit. Bought two light bulbs in the 20 baht shop. To fix the light in the week. Done the Big C shop. And we were off. But a couple of stops on the way back.

First was at the mini-factory where the guy makes the concrete ornaments. Me and Mildred went in and ordered a cat. It was a special birthday pressie for her later this month (18th). She asked for it to be left undercoated white as she wants to paint it up herself.  'No problem', the craftsman said. 2,000 baht. Paid half down. We got back to the pick-up. Mrs Owl was tutting away. Have to pick it up in about 10 days.

Even more tutting to come. But it was worth it. Got a great shot of the creeper invading the pylon.

Couldn't get directly underneath, due to the undergrowth and the wasps and snakes. But sill a nice shot of nature doing a bit of reclaiming.

1264516142_creepersonpylon.png.a6bd1ac0a09773cb266e1489e74330aa.png

Off to the farm for Mildred to let her carp go.

Whenever we got o the farm we have something for the dogs to gobble up.

688953238_loohth.png.9af05f0c8f82a666374dbd154bc67ad2.png

Some right spindly sods in this sector.

Been taking pics every quarter, from the same place since planting in June three and a half years ago. So trees will be 4 years old next June. Will have to make some decisions on cutting them.

Run out of wall for Mildred's paintings.  Have 29 mounted now.

Mrs owl chucks the empty cans of cat and dog food in the plastic bucket. And a couple of days later the plastic (or is it paper) printing on them has vanished.

1954949114_111bigsnail.png.91f9a4ba68d72c2d80869387dc201ca9.png

It's the snails. So a tip there for everyone. If yer want yer snails big, buy tin cat/dog food and let them feast away.

Man came round with some crabs in the week. Bought 40 baht's worth and we let them go in number 7 pond.

481582822_022crabs.png.6eea87d920d5d2bc5b88ee984b71466c.png

Now the good thing about putting crabs in the pond, is that if the water disappears, the crabs will simply climb out, and go somewhere else. Not like those silly pla nin and carp.

Twins came out with auntie to see them.

The Owls got a point at home. Leyton Orient won. Aveley came unstuck at Yeovil. Peacocks did the biz, as did Ipswich and Leicester. Bit of a shock at Sunderland. Fresh from that 0-3 win at Wednesday, they must have been hopeful of another victory at home to Boro. No way!! 0-4. Some cracking match-ups today. Including Gunners v City and Wolves v Villa.

Mrs Owl's sister; Pook, has been practising her English. She came over Friday and uttered 5 words that were so good, it was like a Dagenham lass has started talking to me.

'''Jack cat not have food.'''

Very sad state of affairs in Israel. At least 8 Thai workers got caught up n it all. Three from Udon Thani.

I'll try to get to Udon myself this week. Want to o pick up my 90 day, and get ready for this year's visa extension. And get along to see one of our regular posters. And get some cheese.

Go into Big C, or 7/11, to pay yer leccy and they want passports, IDs and special numbers. Went into Ban Dung PEA to pay two bills on Wednesday, and all they wanted was the dosh. In and out in less than 5 minutes.

Been busy whenever I have any time spare; doing my ebook. Will be free when I've got it finished. Progress a little slow. But must keep at it. It was one of my last NY resolutions; ''finish some bloody written work.'' Hope to have it completed by the end of the year.

Only one thing left to say; bye y'all.

That www art that Mildred got a little something for. Well I got permission to post it.

Andy! It was you that put me onto the Makro cheese before. I had bought 2kg of Horteca last time and found it to be just about OK.

Pickettywitch said about '''Cheese to meat you''' being on the same drag as Makro in Udon. Bought some real tasty food there. Cheese and sausage. More pricey than Makro though.

I'll have a look about in the week.

Okay, yea it was me who recommended the Makro cheese and it’s just okay I agree, Anchor is better.

Wish I knew of a decent cheese shop around my way .

I have been buying cheese and other goods from 'Food Variety' on Lazada. They often have really good offers on items near to expiry.

As far as I am concerned, cheese does not expire - it matures. I usually grate the cheese and freeze it, it keeps just fine for many months.

If ya don't like to shout or whistle, get yerself a little bell. When yer want a cup of coffee or tea; just ring it.

Of course the wife might start shouting when the toilet needs unblocking, or she needs a nail banging in.. But a small price to pay for returning things to their natural state. After all, it's out job to go to war, or to the footy, or to the pub, while the ladies suckle the babes, and keep the home nice.

Now I've got me new phone, and Mildred has got LINE and WhatsApp installed for me, it's easy to send a message when I'm after something in the kitchen; or the bedroom.
