Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has called for an end to the patronage system and urged the public to come forward with information on corruption.

He made the remark while presiding over the opening ceremony of International Anti-Corruption Day today (December 9) at Impact Muangthong Thani exhibition centre.

Prayut said all parties should join forces to stamp out corruption, which has dented the country's development for a long time.

He added that the government had made it a priority to rid corruption in state agencies.

Phase 3 of the strategy for prevention and supression of the corruption (2017-2021)is focused on an integrated approach in fighting corruption, He said.

Start by looking in the mirror, then left and right at your deputies and their enormous riches earned through..........!

And then have them cast an eye over your siblings, your cabinet, and basically every Government agency building, and don't forget the NACC too.

Oh and... actually forget it ????

Do as I say, not as I do..

If he is really so keen on cleaning up corruption, why would he not want to explain his wealth? And that ot Prawit.

Seems like that would be a good start and would improve his somewhat deficient credibility. Even Thais are starting to see through this guys, and you know you're in trouble when you can't even fool a Thai.

They have well publicized hotlines to sneak against farangs overstaying....so about time similar energy to be used with hotlines where one can report corrupt attitudes from the Thai Police and Immigration against foreigners. And have the cases followed up.

If they had any heart in the matter, it should be easy, they only need to clean up the 1% who control 66% of the countries wealth. But then again, who bites the hand that feeds? Grubs!

To which the knowing responded with uncontrollable laughter.   Stop the beer monopoly they cried as they picked themselves off the floor.

Will we be asked to be on the lookout for corruption when flying in on Thai airways.  Like they mention human trafficking.

Coz we all looking out for them now aren't we.

I like Prayut, he is funny without being obscene.

I have one thing I'd ask the PM if I had the chance: "Have you lost weight?"

Corruption is part of the system and even you won't be able to eradicate it!
It is not reassuring to have a dreamer PM!

Anyone know the fake news hotline number?

Being surrounded by so many expensive watches  he should  never be late for a meeting

In all fairness i understand what is being  attempted  but all this  does is push a 500 baht bribe into  a 5000 baht bribe  as tier risk goes up with this measure

Let sleeping dogs sleep

Also stop making too many laws

The more laws means more opportunity  for corruption

I know some peoples ( thais and forang) that have been hit hard by new laws and it is not helping fight  corruption
