Do you remember your first car?
right out of 2 years in VN, summer of 1968 out of service and bought a new 1968 Ford Mustang V8 289 great on gas, with that great Mustang roar. Drove it for several years 155J miles, working or govt and moving to Thailand with no a/c so traded it in on another medium sized car. Regretted my whole live. So 15 years later bought a used 1967 V8 289 that needed a lot of work which I did one winter and then as my daughter was graduating, I had for years promised her a new Ford Mustang for graduation just as I was getting ready for the the '67 to be painted and she aked what color are you getting it -RED I said and she then said she would rather have that car than a new one so - she still has it and won't ever return it! Just love the sound of that roar! -

I suspect it will play out EXACTLY like Truth Social did. Left wing media convinced uninformed people that it was a joke and going bust. You, and the rest told us again and again we were in a cult, Trump was a scammer and Truth Social was a goner. Today it's market cap is over $8 BILLION. Any apology? Not holding my breath. His crypto will no doubt do the same. -

There is free speech, to a point, but it works both ways. No such thing as 'white guilt'. What's happened is that by teaching real history, and not none that excludes the truth about what white Europeans have done over the last few hundred years, and how 'success was achieved, some people have taken that as explicit criticism of white people in general - which it isn't. Any anthropologist will tell you that humans have always thrived on diversity. The far right IS racist, that's their working hypothesis, also see anthropology and how white supremacy is not good for humanity etc. -

Thai mosquito repellant - your experience?
I am O Rhesus positive and get occasional bites whereas my wife and our son are absolute mossie targets. Look on the bright side, it could be worse. Only female mosquitos bite and then only those that are pregnant. That said, it may only take one bite from an infected insect to transmit malaria or dengue. -

DWP life certificate.
I email DWP every year whether they send a POL letter or not because I never receive them despite staying at the same address in Thailand for more than a decade. I get letters from the UK all the time so I presume the agency they use to send these are paid by results IE cancelling pensions. I get a grudging response by email but this goes on my file proving I exist. This year I copied them my electoral registration which I can do by email -

That makes good sense, 13 x 4 week years. 1st always on a Sunday for example. Good old Jewish folk.
