Although published today the article in your link mentions the policy on THURSDAY.

Thailand and Bhutan

Thailand also announced on Thursday that visitors from Hong Kong would be made to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine upon arrival, RTHK reported.

So again, ancient history. We need to hear from today's arrivals

Thailand did announce this on Thursday, 14 hours ago, look at this threads first post.

Self quarantine, what a bloody joke.

Woman in our village back from Korea last week, told to self quarantine, ha ha.

Family had a welcome home party on saturday, complete with a BIG boombox blasting away.

Many people there ( free booze and food ), so much for self quarantine.

Reminded me of the Emperor fiddling while Rome burned to the ground...

Not a problem to stay at home for 14 days, but what about the food? Even if we order it online, we need to go meet delivery guy.

If you order from FoodPanda and others, you can pay online when you place the order.

Then when the delivery guy arrives, from a distance, just ask him to set down your order somewhere while keeping a suitable distance. Then go and pick up the food bags once the driver has moved away.

Then once you have the food inside your home, since you've been outside, best to wash your hands.

"Thais and foreigners who came from these places will have to go through self-quarantine for 14 days at home or in a hotel room, where they have to report themselves to the authorities every day or officials will come to check on them," health ministry spokesman Rungrueng Kitphati told Reuters.

how this will work it's a puzzling concern.... self quarantine means stay at home but in the same sentence they say people are to report to the local authorities on a daily basis, how can one be at home while at the same time reporting to the local authorities....hmmmm interesting concept

I expect this list to grow.

This is in line with Thailands policies on a lot of things they would like to discourage, they don't introduce outright bans, rather they 'obstruct' and make things much more difficult until many people won't bother as it's too much trouble.

It will take longer but they get what they want in the end.

It's called nudging. Very woke, apparently.

What happened to Germany? I guess it’s just one of those things that make you go hmm.

Germany was changed to "low risk" status yesterday, whilst some European countries changed Germany to "high risk"...:whistling:

I am headed back to the US shortly. Wonder if in a month's time, if that will be on the compulsory list too? 13 deaths in a very short period. And the administration there seemed to be totally unprepared for this. They could have been preparing test kits a month ago, when congress asked for emergency funding, and were turned down by men with extreme myopia. Now they are up to 226 cases, five in the past 24 hours. And 13 deaths. This could take down Trump. I sure hope so. Those deaths fall squarely on his shoulders, for withdrawing the funding of the epidemiology budget of the CDC, to pay for 16 Tomahawk missiles. Beyond inane. Beyond ignorant.

What about all the Chinese and Korean tourists already here, pottering around Bangkok?

The Chinese Government is telling its citizens everything is under control and they believe it’s ok to venture out.

The whole handling of this episode has been a shambles. There should have been an immediate block on any arrivals from risk counties.

GB?

I expect you know that the British government disagrees with you.

This is a good first step, it should have been done a month ago but we have idiots running the country.

Are you talking about the UK or Thailand, please specify.

The UK's chief medical officer has stated that universal bans is ineffective as is the cancellation of big events. The Thai response and the UK response is not altogether dissimilar.

I remember during SARS we were given a form at immigration.  Every 2 or 3 days we had to report to a hospital for temperature checks etc.  The form was stamped by the hospital and we had to carry it with us at all times.

This was a small inconvenience, but at least we didn't have to spend 14 days in a hotel room.

Quarantined at home but then have to go to report to authorities every day (or they come to check...) So smart. It's Thailand. And tourists stay in hotel? Good for the hotels with guaranteed occupation but who will make up the rooms? And after they go... who comes to disinfect?

its all a load of scaremongery. it started before anyone was alleged to have died, then we are told the china doc who said it wasn't a problem caught it and died.

whats really going on is stealth economic sanctions against the eastern nations to hamper them forming an economic bloc, and the routine bi-annual vaccine push.

Well done Thailand only 40 odd cases now UK at 115 or so before today and France over 100 before today. What is Thailand doing which is different? Are they measuring/testing  the disease differently as Europe now begins to go into lock-down of sporting events and worries about its capacity to support the many oncoming severe pneumonia cases etc in its specialist hospitals. It seems the local areas and BKK are avoiding the rapid outbreak common in our most advanced societies? Everyone in London is using hand sanitizes in college and work
