Koh Samui: Bouncer opens fire on men after warning about bringing in drinks from outside

Gunfire erupted outside a pub on beach road Chaweng as a security bouncer opened fire on guests.

One man was killed at the scene and two are injured in hospital.

The fight started because of an argument over a group of men who were allegedly bringing in drinks from outside.

Dead at the scene at 4 am Wednesday was 42 year old Kongkiatkorn or "Yant", 42. He had been shot in the head and cheek.

Grievously wounded was Pongsakorn or "Ort", also 42, who was hit twice in the chest and once in the chin.

The person who shot them was Surasak or "Net", 37, a security guard. He was hit behind the ear by a gunshot but managed to ride away on a motorcycle and give up to police who took him to hospital.

He has already told investigators that prior to Wednesday he had warned the group of six that arrived that they were not allowed to bring in alcohol from outside the club. An argument started when he repeated his warning.

Surasak said that the man who subsequently died attacked him with a beer bottle so he responded by firing a .38. The dead man's friend opened fire too so he also shot at him.

Both injured men are under police guard in hospital. The bouncer has been charged with murder and weapons offences and Pongsakorn faces an attempted murder charge and weapons offences.

Wild, wild, West comes to mind. Kudos to the bouncer for shooting the <deleted> that attacked him.

P.S. Some bouncers in the US are off-duty Police Officers looking to make an extra buck.

this guy has likely been dreaming of an opportunity  such as this for years

Might have been easier to just lock the door to keep them from bringing in drinks

funny how the posts are about the bouncer with a gun, hello, the *guests* if you can call them that* were armed,  and a bottle v a gun is not a good idea, , and they had been warned before,

Nice one, bouncer guy. I’m sure the charges will be dropped.

It's impossible to figure out how they think. Because they don't think.

Bouncers foster this imgae and are always looking for a fight, if they start it as lets say there comuncation skills are not that good. You give these clowns a bit of power and they think they are special forces.

Why did this pr..k carry a firearm?

Because he was aware that the customers are sometimes armed, as was the case in this incident.

Not smart, but understandable.

Where i come from they don't even use violence, if they can't handle it they call the police...but of course there needs to be a good policeforce for that.
