An Ubon Ratchathani woman who skipped quarantine in Bangkok and travelled back home has tested positive for Covid-19.

Ubon Ratchathani’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation reported on Sunday (April 5) that a Khemarat district woman aged 30 years, who left her apartment in Bangkok’s Soi Pattanakarn 43, tested positive for Covid-19 after she entered the province.

“The province’s latest patient lived in an apartment with two roommates in Soi Pattanakarn 43 in Bangkok’s Suan Luang district,” said a centre official. “She had displayed symptoms similar to Covid-19 pneumonia on April 1 and went to Vibharam Hospital on April 3 to get tested.”

The hospital staff told her to remain in quarantine at home until the lab results came back, but she instead drove back home by car with her boyfriend to Ubon Ratchathani.

“On Sunday the hospital notified the centre that her test results came back positive for Covid-19 and suggested we separate the patient from her family members as well as her 28-year-old boyfriend,” the official said.

“She was the 15th confirmed case of Covid-19 in Ubon Ratchathani and was the first case in the last four days of no new cases reported.”

Ubon Ratchathani Governor Sarit Withoon had announced a lockdown in his province since March 18, prohibiting travellers from entering except for local residents and vehicles carrying medical supplies and consumer products. He also closed all borders with neighbouring countries that have no screening checkpoints.

Again, you just can not fix a person who believes that only they themselves can tell themselves what to do.  A true rocket scientist she is, just think of all the people she has more than likely infected now, including her own family and friends.  Selfish twit is what I think, but maybe I am being too harsh and critical.

Oh how lovely now, and that's exactly what they were suppose to avoid, and who else has she managed to infect already? some people are just bent in helping the virus to spread, they can't help with their diminished mental capacity...

Even the hospital informed her to stay away from people, she still lack of responsibility. Darn it.

I used to live in that area over 27+ years ago. Was lots of fun way back then.. Wonder what she does in Bangkok and how she got the virus.

Not a great idea currently is it unless you want to spread it in the prisons. Pad lock with a chain to the kitchen and loo in the house would be better

I totally agree with what you say. She's a monumenral liability and needs shooting followed by a swift cremation.

This is where the problem lay.

The government should make it mandatory that hospitals phone in someone who has had a blood test for Covid-19 and officials should visit this person and read the riot act to them, go anywhere before "we" get the test back and you're 100,000 baht lighter plus a year in jail.

Take it or leave it.

20.000 Thb fine??..??..??..

You are giving her a 50% discount compared to the offenders who break curfew.

Min. 50.000 Thb, and also jail time would be the proper sentence.

Sheer stupidity, her boyfriend and now family members are all at risk and facing isolation.

It's not a pointless thread, it's showing people how this virus is being spread around the country by stupid, brainless selfish people who just will not be told what to do!

a photo of her Bagged'n'Tagged

Strange that the boyfriend didn't mind going on a 10 hour car trip with her when she was displaying symptoms and waiting for the results of her test.
