That's why when the Chinese tourists say they want to go to Thailand again, will they be welcome with open arms?

International flights have reopened yesterday in China.

believe it or not, not all lost their jobs and many who have, will have a job to back to and not all who come holiday to Thailand are living month to month, hunting 300 baht rooms and 50 baht beers ????

Fair enough, I was thinking about the natives.

Everyday I chat with some friends who are living in Europe, they all tell me that their dick is going to explode ! They are all waiting for the end of the confinement and going back to Thailand.

They never mentioned money issue.

Did the government close the FKKs in Germany?

In many countries if you don't work you don't eat. The LOS is one of those countries.

So blame the government...

Weren't you raving how wonderful Thailand was handling the C19 outbreak, full of praise and admiration for the administration at keeping everyone safe?Another story said Thailand has 2 trillion baht of social security money saved and it looks like they will keep on saving in special bank accounts for an emergency just like this one.

As usual, you try to turn and twist stuff again. Not at all surprised. You as well as others, knows that I was referring to the handling of ill and that they are one of the countries with less deaths. I have also referred to that in many of my posts.

How did you get those figures????.....I see it as soon as the major restrictions have lifted on foreigners and airlines can resume flying like before as nobody knows how long it could take, but as soon is the lights are turned on again in Pattaya the flood gates will be opened to the Chinese, Indians like no tomorrow.

I think many countries will not be allowing citizens OUT for pleasure travel for some time. I think there will be restriction on countries allowing people out, and many countries placing restrictions on where tourists can come from , needing certificates to be allowed to travel, and enter. Countries willalso require certifcates of health for people to re-enter or go into quarantine on return, making it more difficult.

Anyone remember the days of having a vaccine book to travel and enter many countries??

Travel insurance will skyrocket, air fares will also be expensive as they will not be allowed to pack people into cattle class as close as before.

From what I've heard, a lot of Thai women in Pattaya sell only one thing -

especially on Walking Street!

Quite the opposite, actually.  The 5000 baht is intended for those who DON'T have payslips. Itinerant workers and the like.

Disgusting to see the jokes coming up here about cheap bargains becoming available from the desperate selling of so many now.

Instead of snitching around about who's wearing a mask or not and who is daring to leave his room to get some daylight, and calling the Covid police, why not thinking about helping these numerous victims of the lockdown?

Agreed, even if the lockdown and tourist travel restrictions were lifted today it would be too late for so many thais who live in the "now".

The pawn shops will be having a field day. I suspect everyone will want to get in early to porn as much stuff as they can because I bet they will stop taking goods after a week or two.

Luckily they might get away with it,

if its only a guy&gal at close quarters and a camera man 3 metres away.

Health crisis always affect the poor disproportionately, as do natural disasters.

Even many "middle income" families are rarely more than a month away from struggle street, especially in most western countries.

This possibly a good time for many countries to take a serious look at the introduction of a "universal income" for the majority of people. Many studies, and some trials have proven the economic value in it.

I should also say I am so sorry about that, it is not a time to just think about the bargains to be had.

I am in a quandary. Stuck in Australia after shutdowns.  I am still renting 1 bedroom place in Thailand with all my belongings inside and motorbike.  If it drags out too long I'll have to somehow break lease and get my stuff into storage.  Don't want others going through my stuff but might not have choice. So may need people to pack and send my stuff into storage?  Also meds in fridge.  Nightmare but can't afford to keep paying rent there and paying to live here with financial losses already due to COVID19.  What a nightmare.  This is unbelievable.  If I was back there I'd be helping out where I can. Have a vacant room.  Could have been shared, sub leased etc.

Mate I have a big storage building on the darkside of Pattaya City drop me a  PM.

Tonight they will announce plans to stop international flights until September. For Europe ,that is the right decision. The authorities don’t want people going on holidays, and bringing back the virus all over again. It’s the same everywhere, people won’t have any spare money when this is all over. Question is for Thailand, will the Chinese come flocking back, and when ? I doubt that you can count too much on Indian tourists returning soon. Normal life has been disrupted, and it’s just too sad that there is no help for the Thais , but there never has been.

it is tragic that the people who get hit hardest are the poor who in most in cases have little or nothing to eat. this is a test of the resilience of mankind. those who are able should help the people in need. share it, however little.

"everyone will want to get in early to porn"   I,m guessing only they young ones will have any success.....:cheesy:

People selling all they have to get food to eat is funny, is it? Something to joke about, is it? There really are some cretins around, aren't there, and not ashamed to show that they are.

It can’t be easy for people that live day to day , week to week normally.

We need to spare a thought for them and help where we can.

Well said.

And no..they are not ashamed to show what they are.

But the Greeks not only invented the term "pleonexia" they also invented the concept of "hubris" which they considered a force to be reckoned with.

He was "porn" instead of Pawn>> play on words

there are those in need in all countries, the government, charity organisations and individuals are doing what they can, it's up to the government initially and charities to raise money and get organised to help. i know the religious orders are doing a lot in the community in my home country. the monks in thailand have an organisation and resources in place; temples in pretty much every community, people and money, are they providing soup kitchens, food parcels as well as spiritual support in the communities around their temples?

That ll suit me, I m looking for a 2 year old SUV low Kms Everest, CRV, CX5 or such like. I ll guess another few weeks this situation will filter up the food chain.  Be lots of cheap properties another 3-6 months.

Fortune favors the brave, anyone holding cash will make a killing yet again.  Welcome to the "Money go Round"

You sound like a really pleasant and sympathetic bloke. I do hope you acquire several properties and vehicles for a rock bottom price while others around you struggle and starve. You deserve it. Well done mate

Well firstly I'm only trying to buy a car from someone who no longer can afford to keep it.  No sympathy required there, it's hardly like I ve turfed him and his family onto the street.  Or taking his 15 year old daughter into bonded sex slavery.

Id say without any doubt I d probably pay much more than a Thai car yard or it would be a better solution than the Thai loan shark route.

I ve no intention of buying property as in real estate here, after 10-12 years in the rental game I ve just sold my last one some 6-8 months back.  Never to be repeated.  I ll stick with my rental portfolio back home which pays me handsomely enough, 4 properties let to the Local Housing Authority on a five year lease agreement, with guaranteed income.

Listen you might be one of those few strange fellas that never bothered- but every girl in a bar or Gogo is being exploited due to financial difficulties.  Some drive Fortunas on finance, some as did my missus do it to support 3 young children and a sick mother.  That's where by sympathys are spent.

GET OVER IT, this is the real World I didn't make it.

Free food for Thais now 4pm. Soi Arunotai, outside the school. Off of Pattaya Klang. A line of people but maybe they will return tomorrow.

It is not just Thais struggling financially, millions of chinese business owners are bankrupt or in massive debt, not to mention westerners whom have lost their jobs, houses, security etc.

The last thing on people's minds are taking vacations.

The future is now uncertain.
