The place Pattaya will never make a come back after this IMO its been dying now last 15yrs min !!! The locals killed the goose that laid the golden egg ripping tourists off from bar girls to taxis i wonder if they will reflect on how life was good when the farrang flocked there from mid 80s to 90s !!! Thanks for the memories !!!

  • Pattaya is fantastic now... No smelly tourists from the UK/Russia/Europe/ETC ETC  and no hordes of chines in tourist busses.   hopefully it moves forward and never returns to  time gone by.

So what do you think will happen? Lots of fishermen in the future and they will use the bars in Walking Street as warehouses or what's on your mind?

I agree with everything you said mate. Foreigners have been taken advantage of way too much down there.

the glory days are over.

back to fishing and good old fashioned hard work now boys & girls. No more free meals.

You had yer chance and you blew it!

It's possible Pattaya will be the best ever in a month, 1000s of girls and no tourists, thaifriendly will be full

OP, the 80s and 90s may have been good for visiting western sex tourists, old farang slobs and worn out clapped out divorced bitter men,  but not for the Thai people, who had to service them for a pittence, or the bar girls working for a few Baht and no protection against the mafia that ran the place and exploited them.  I don't like the place now, but I don't look back on those times with rose tinted glasses.

Perhaps pattaya will have to evolve or die,it was going down the gurgler for the past few years before now, when ( if )this current emergency do,es end it,'ll be at least a couple of years before any sense of normality returns to the way of life as we knew it and they,'ll be a lot of grief in its wake, have a nice day.

So your one wasn,t different after all.

If the best of the lot migrate to Nana and Cowboy in BKK, I wouldn't complain.

I could retire a wealthy man if I had a nickel for every time I've read this.

With Chinese airlines offering huge discounts on domestic travel, it's just a matter of time before pent up demand swamps Pattaya 5 minutes after the doors swing open and those same airlines offer $10 seats to Thailand.

More likely they'll be $1000 seats, with the belting the airlines have taken.

Everything will return to normal after this is done . How come ? Businesses will fail so it will be gone . True for a short while ( short after everything is opening again ) . After it is opening again , 1st people who do come are the single tourist looking for the same as before . This creates demand for bars/hotels/girls . Girls now many without money , will jump on the 1st opportunity to get a job . So we are back on how Pattaya/Thailand in general , did get it's " popular holiday destination " name . Families always come not in the 1st place to Thailand , that will only be there after there is a vaccin and everything is safe again for some while .Before that they will stay closer to home . And thinking about everything would be taken over by Chinese creating casino's ... Pattaya is not the 1st or 2nd popular place in Thailand for them . Places like Chiang Mai and Huahin are much more popular for them , investors would 1st invest there before putting large sums of money in Pattaya for loads of casinos .

As far as i know all the seaside of walking street has been illegaly built on a public beach

it should be the good moment to give back the original picture, not only for the view but

also for the pollution, all the ''used water'' on this side seems going directly into the sea.

Pattaya, sex-tourist's Disney, was virtually dead or dying before the virus.

Final nail in the coffin!
